Music is our mission.
When music moves you, it becomes fuel for creativity. Music lets you fall in love. Music helps you do the important work that needs to be done. Music drives the greatest minds and thinkers of our time to create, innovate and make new discoveries. Music creates connections. Great music can change the world. And that's important.
That's why Earwig makes music.
Earwig has been a part of the Columbus arts and music scene for quite a while. We've had a lot of support from our fans in the past and when we began to think about a new record we knew that we wanted to evolve. We made a conscious effort to create new sounds and stories and to push our musical and creative boundaries. With 'Pause For The Jets', we've experimented with new songs, taking chances with our process, collaborating and digging deeper into what makes us love to listen to new music and why we make art in the first place.
At Basement Underground, Earwig's practice space and HQ, we took every unexpected turn that presented itself, looking for new directions. We switched up our sounds, instruments and our roles in the band. Some of the songs on the new album are built up from rough sketches captured on our iPhones at rehearsals at the moment they were created. With others, we took the road less traveled and let inspiration be our guide. Along the way we scheduled recording sessions at several outside studios in Columbus and brought tracks back for more recording at our home studio, Moonville Recording Lab. We've used the internet to send signals back and forth, looking for interesting sounds and new ways to do what we do. But we're not finished yet. Making 'Pause For The Jets' has given Earwig a new beginning and we want you to be a part of that.
We have invested a lot of time and money with already over $4,000 in studio costs, new equipment and recording gear. We have a plan for finishing and releasing the album and we're almost there. We hope to mix the album with the help of Mr. Joe Viers at Sonic Lounge studio. We are currently finishing up a sharp new music video for the lead single with Spacejunk studios. We've got a lot planned for this release with our first ever 12" vinyl record, CD, download, promotions, cool shows, videos and other creative promotions. We need your help to complete this album project and we've chosen Kickstarter as a way to get you involved in helping Earwig reach the finish line.
We need you. It's that simple.
Please take the time to look at our backer levels to find one that works for you. We appreciate your help and support in our effort to create an exciting reality through great new music. And we would not be able to do this without you. Thank you very much.
Risks and challenges
This Kickstarter campaign is a "Pause For The Jets" album pre-sale where you can order the CD, Vinyl or Digital Download. We've set it up so that you can support us in any way that you want to. You can order the new record or choose to pick up additional swag with the special reward levels that give you a chance to support us even more.
The way that Kickstarter works as a fundraiser is that if we don't reach our goal, we will not receive any of the donations pledged. Your credit card will not be charged and it's back to the drawing board for us. If we do reach our goal, and with your help we will, your credit card will be charged when the campaign ends on December 17th.
Please look over our list of rewards. There are pledge levels that let you give us a small boost (everything helps!), levels that let you get a copy of the new album, Earwig swag and other options that offer fun and creative ways to really help us out. Please help us get 'Pause For The Jets' to the people!
The album is not yet finished. After we are funded, it's possible that we might run into production snags or delays. Never fear! Earwig is crafty and we will find a way to tackle any challenges that come our way and promise to make 'Pause For The Jets' a record to remember. We'll keep in touch and will be updating our progress with social media and new video postings. Please share our Kickstarter link and spread the word!
We will spend the funds raised here to:

* Manufacture of Albums, CDs, setting up downloads, t-shirts, stickers, reward swag and other supplies - $1500
