An educational book for children highlighting how the internet impacts our society in a fun, easy-to-read, 24-page hardcover format.
Children know about the "usual" jobs such as firemen, doctors, and teachers, but do they know about the important role the internet plays in these careers?
Written for a 6-7 year-old audience, I Can Work on the Internet tells the story of Teddy and his dad, the web developer, who fields questions from a school class at career day. While the children understand the concepts of apps, search engines, and tablets, Teddy's dad seeks to tie in those concepts and explain how the internet is a critical tool for farmers, police officers, and more.
As an aid for parents and educators, a discussion guide and glossary at the end of the book help to reinforce the key concepts regarding the internet. The book will be distributed free to schools by requesting a copy at www.ICanWorkOnTheInternet.com (currently in development).
The funds from this effort will support the printing, production, and free distribution of the book. In addition to the printed version, the e-book will be available for free download on Amazon.

"People use the internet for their job? I thought it was mostly for games and buying stuff," replied Dylan.
"You are right, Dylan. Playing games is a fun thing to do on the internet. And when you buy something on the internet, that is called ecommerce. But there are many people that need the internet every day to do their job," said Teddy's dad.
"Did you know that firemen use the internet to see where to drive their truck so they can get to the fire as fast as possible?" said Teddy's dad. “They will use maps on their computer to find the correct route.”
