For oh-too-many-years, my answer to "Do you have a CD?" has been "Well, my band did, back when... and there were some compilations... and you can download the demos... and..."
What do I want to do? Fix that. I love these songs, love playing them, love singing them, and I want recordings of them that I'm just as proud of.
I've booked studio time at Pogo Studio here in Champaign, and we're going to bang them out like a great live set. No remixes, no overdubs, just me and a guitar in a nice wooden room.
The money is for:
- Recording and mixing with Mark Rubel at Pogo Studio
- Mastering by Jon Schoenoff
- An initial run of 100 CDs.
The song list, if you're curious, is over here.
How can you help? Glad you asked.
Clicking that big green "Back This Project" box, and donating even a dollar, is a huge help. Want to go a bit further, and have something to show for it (beyond my eternal gratitude)?
Pledge $10 or more and you'll get the CD before the world at large does. As soon as they're in my hands, the first thing I'll do is mail them to you and your fellow supporters.
For $25 or more, your name will be on the CD jacket as a supporter; you'll also get to download all of the CD tracks before the CDs have been pressed.
Going for the Gold
Want to be slightly evil, and still feel good about it? For a donation of $50 or more, you'll get all the above. And then I'll record the song of your choosing. Love it or hate it, I can't refuse. So have fun with that. You'll get MP3s of all the "let's torture Paul" songs, not available to anyone else.
You could also ask for a song you'd just like to hear, or one of mine that didn't make the cut. But I'm not kidding myself. Have fun.
Tell Your Friends
See those Share This Project With Your Friends links up there? You should use them. Really. Tell your friends, your acquaintances, the world at large. Tweet and Retweet. Tumble away. Post it on that wall.
