Come To The Table/the eucharist is the title of the new album I'm working on. The whole album is centered around the theme of communion. Its an invitation to the Lord's table to taste the bread of life and the sweet wine of His blood and spirit.Over the last 2 years, we've been playing many of these songs in our times of worship and have seen thousands of people experience deep communion with God thru the Spirit's use of these songs. People have really wanted these songs recorded so they can have these experiences in their cars, homes, etc. Now we're taking a leap of faith and launching out to do exactly that.
Its been 4 years since I last recorded an album in studio, and I can't wait to get these songs out to invite others to the table but…
I need your help. The typical costs to record and produce a professional album usually run at least $25,000 or more from start to finish, but because of so many great friends that are professional musicians and studio engineers giving their time and talents for a friend we'll be able to make it work for FAR less than that. (though having $25k to work with would sure make it better!)
For this project we need to raise at least $3,000 by August 1st in order to complete this project. We're using Kickstarter because of its amazing success rate as a fundraising website for the arts.
Kickstarter has a unique structure for fundraising with a couple noteworthy guidelines:
1. All secure donations are really just "pledges" until the August 1st deadline. If the minimum goal of $3,000 is reached then donations will be deducted from your selected account (about 7 days afterward.)
If the minimum goal is not reached and the project doesn't get funded then none of your money is deducted from your account. Pray we reach the goal!
2. Kickstarter recommends artists to build in "incentives" for donations. (Like $50 donors get an autographed t-shirt). I'm guessing that if you are going to give into a music ministry project like this that you really believe in the eternal value and getting a t-shirt isn't going to move you to give more or less. Besides, I don't have t-shirts of myself. Thats just weird.
This album is a central part of God opening up other doors to more of the things that He's laid in my heart and the hearts of all those who share in this journey with me and my family.
Thank you for helping us invite others to the table.
