Past the Last Mountain is four-issue geopolitical fantasy comic about Kate the faun, Willa the dragon, and Simon the young troll boy, who find themselves on the run from the United States Government. You can read the first issue for free right now by going to www.paulallor.com/ptlm.
The original mini-series is completely done, and ran on Comixology earlier this year, published by Comics Experience. With your help, we are very excited to collect it in print!
Written by Paul Allor (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), with art and colors by Louie Joyce (Mishmash) over layouts by Gannon Beck (Space Corps), Past the Last Mountain is an exciting and emotional adventure story about the importance of hope and the power of kindness in an unkind world.
In addition to the original Past the Last Mountain mini-series, the book includes Orc Girl, a one-shot fantasy comic with art by Thomas Boatwright. Set in the same universe as Past the Last Mountain, Orc Girl is a sweet coming-of-age story that acclaimed comics writer Gail Simone called “funny, charming, bittersweet and moving; a perfect little comic, realized brilliantly.”
But that's not all! Along with Past the Last Mountain and Orc Girl, the book features twenty short comics drawn by twenty different artists, all set in the Past the Last Mountain universe. Basically, it's a mini-series, a one-shot and an anthology, all in one incredible book.
Past the Last Mountain artists and colorists include:
- Aaron Houston (Oxymoron)
- Anderson Cabral (Drones)
- Arielle Jovellanos (Fresh Romance)
- Ashley A. Woods (NIOBE: She is Life)
- Bailey Patchett
- Becky Jewell (Tilted Sun)
- Brittany Peer (TMNT: Casey and April)
- Caspar Wijngaard (Limbo)
- Chris Evenhuis (Wynonna Earp)
- Eoin Marron (Red Cube Studio)
- Eric Zawadzki (The Dregs)
- JD Faith (Virgil)
- Jeffrey Veregge (Red Wolf)
- Joe Lalich (Batman 80-Page Giant)
- Joe Mulvey (Scam)
- Jordan Gibson (Howard the Duck)
- Juan Romera (Strange Nation)
- Jules Rivera (Gutter Magic)
- Marissa Louise (Robocop)
- Paul Tucker (Tet)
- Rebecca Nalty (Red Cube Studio)
- Rebekah Isaacs (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
- Silvio dB (The Locksmith)
- Sjan Weijers
- Triona Farrell (Weavers)
In addition to the book, everyone who pledges at the print level or higher receives this awesome print by series co-creator Louie Joyce.
For a bit more, you'll also receive these amazing prints from contemporary watercolor painter Jody Edwards, who shows us how fantasy creatures might be painted if they were just an ordinary part of our everyday lives. And let's be honest -- these would look amazing on your wall.
For those who prefer to wear their art, we have two T-shirt designs available. The logo of the Westfield Penal Preserve, where these creatures live until their big escape; and a look at Simon the Troll Boy preparing for battle.
These high-quality, silk-screened T-shirts are comfortable as heck, and are perfect for any situation, from a backyard barbecue to a comic convention to your cousin’s wedding.
We also have many other awesome rewards, including a digital book that contains the script for every issue and short story; a script critique by me; and original art by Louie Joyce, including a variant cover for your own comics project.
You can learn more about each of these rewards on the right. And if you would like to customize a reward or discuss add-ons, please don't hesitate to reach out.
