About this project
My good friend, Chris Sasich, and I are currently working on a ten episode comedic webseries about two college kids who, for numerous reasons, end up in financial trouble. In an attempt to make money fast, they fall into the world of crime. These two have no experience and have no idea what they are getting into. As the series progresses, they end up in way over their heads, struggling to find a way out. With the help of an unemployed college graduate, they must face a world of crime with only the knowledge of what they have seen in the movies and on the History Channel.
While our previous attempts in the film world have mainly been personally funded, with this project we have found that our ambitions quickly exceed our wallet sizes. The saved funds from our meager paychecks just won’t cut it this time around. Obviously we cannot offer free trips to Salt Lake City, Utah or lifetime memberships to online gaming networks in support of our project, for if we could, we wouldn't be asking for your support. What we are asking, though, is that you gracious offer what you can in support of the project. It is simple -- if we can get 300 people pledging $10 a piece, then we will be able to make this web series for you and your friends with all the pomp and flashiness of a Broadway production of Cats. If you feel passionate about the project and are inclined to donate more money, then the end product only gets better and better.
We don’t just want to take your money and run though, we want to give you something in return and make you a part of the SMALL timers community. That is why for ten dollars, we are promising to give you access to updates and any extra video clips we upload such as behind the scenes clips or exclusive trailers. If you donate, we can promise you that you will never feel left out of the conversation during the production of SMALL timers. If you feel inclined to give more, you will receive more and you will become a greater part of SMALL timers.
Our plan is to start shooting in the beginning of June, mid-way through August, and release our first episode sometime towards the beginning of October. We need your money so that we can hire actors, purchase some needed equipment, and put some money behind some special effects for the series finale. We have some really cool ideas, but we need some help financially to get us off the ground. Unfortunately, all great things cost money, despite what everyone else thinks.
Chris and I are truly devoted to making this project. We have spent countless hours working on ideas and thinking of what we would want to see on the web. We are doing this because we truly love film making and we love the challenge of making something of our own. First and foremost, we want to laugh and have fun, but after that we want you to sit down and enjoy something we think is good. We love this project and are very excited to get started, but we cannot do it alone. We would love for you to be there with us.
