Dear Backer, let us start a journey together into Teliad: a rich fantasy world illustrated in three different decks of poker playing cards: Teliad Heren, Teliad dùr and Teliad Alfrin. Please, follow us as we show you our project.
The deck, named Teliad Heren, represents nature, life, harmony, not “peace” since Humans, Orcs, Elves and Dwarves do battle and confront themselves. The back has elements from the four races and fuses them together in a new, innovative way. Gold foiling will embellish the tuck case (even without the stretch goal)
Alfrin stands for “immortal” and depicts the fantasy world of Teliad in an timeless, eternal life. That’s why Teliad Alfrin is decorated with gold and silver ink. All the colors of the characters will be printed in two layers: an underlying metallic ink and a CMYK print on top.
Alfrin will be limited to 1000 decks, and never printed again.
With Teliad dùr (obscurity), Darkness enters the world of Teliad. Dark colors, silver ink and new, twisted, details for all the court cards are the key features of this deck.
Teliad dùr is a stretch goal: when unlocked, pledges will change as stated in their description.
Teliad will be printed with Elite finish.
A statement from LPCC: "At Legends PCC, our primary focus is producing the world’s finest playing cards for people who appreciate quality. Constantly staying on top of worldwide printing advances, we seek to apply these to playing card manufacturing and packaging design. With this project, we are looking forward to trying out a new and never before used paper stock for packaging, a premiere Italian paper supplier with a wide selection of brand new paper varieties. Quality and consistency is paramount when dealing with paper, and when you print with Legends, we can closely match the feel and durability of any of our in-house decks."
This time Passione Playing Cards together with LPCC will bring out custom tuck cases for the first time from a renowned Italian company, a leader in paper manufacturing: Fedrigoni.
Fedrigoni is not a new player in the market. It actually created the market itself, the Fedrigoni Group was born in 1717 AD. Now Fabriano is part of the Fedrigoni Group, it is worthwhile to remember that Fabriano invented modern paper, working on it since 1264 AD. It’s one of the most ancient “made in Italy” products you can think of.
We are still in the process of selecting the right paper for each tuck case.
After the main goal we already prepared some stretch goals. When Teliad dùr is unlocked, tiers with more than one deck will have it included.
During the campaign you will be able to customize your pledge by adding decks, uncut sheets or other objects unlocked during the campaign. You can't add Teliad Alfrin decks (the limited ones), but you can add uncuts.

At Passione Playing Cards we do believe in teamwork. Meet the wonderful group behind this project:
- Federico Bollo: core concepts, author of the original drawings & colors of Teliad Heren
- Maurizio Toccafondi (Colored Noise): the art director of the whole project, he personally designed Teliad Alfrin starting from Bollo’s work and the concept behind Teliad dùr
- Jari di Benedetto: author of the calligraphic work on the three main writings: Teliad Heren, Alfrin and dùr
- Andrea Aste: he created the awesome Teliad teaser and Kickstarter video and gave feedback and advice through the entire project
Risks and challenges
Passione Playing Cards, LLC gained experience from the previous Kickstarter project: Love is a Smoke Classic Edition and therefore we think this one will be smoother.
The artwork for Teliad Heren is 100% ready, Teliad Alfrin will be completed in the first days of the campaign and Teliad dùr will be completed when the stretch goal is reached. For all of those decks the decisions are almost 100% made so it's just a matter of completing the work.
LPCC can provide good fulfillment options and we will stay with them unless a better options is available.
Anyway, there can always be risks of delays for manufacturing activities and the realization of rewards that require craftsmanship. We decided to allow more time for the production and we are already anticipating some manufacturing options with LPCC, to save time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
