About this project
We need $2600 to bring the "tech" up to snuff for our brand new show Jasper in Deadland, written by our creative Artistic Director and fearless leader, Ryan Scott Oliver.
The first-ever performance of this wonderfully unique, made-for-teens musical will take place on August 5th and 6th in Pasadena, CA. The $2600 will be used toward the cost of the production’s technical elements: LIGHTS, SETS, COSTUMES, HAIR, MAKE-UP, SPECIAL EFFECTS (including snow!), and SOUND.Breakdown of how this money will be spent:
Please note the $2600 is not the total cost of tech for this show; it's simply what we want to raise to make this the very best that it can be.
The cast of Jasper in Deadland is comprised of 53 wonderfully hard-working 7th-12th graders from Pasadena, CA. They are taking a big step in "workshopping" a brand new musical, but the payoff is huge. We ask you to come alongside these wonderful youth and help make Jasper in Deadland a one-of-a-kind event!
Something truly unique about the Pasadena Musical Theatre program: kids have always participated in PMTP regardless of their financial situation. Because of that, we draw talent from all aspects of three communities — Altadena, Sierra Madre, and Pasadena.
Performances entertain thousands of audience members throughout the San Gabriel Valley every year, and for many of them the shows are free of charge through our many community outreach programs.
Thanks for helping us make this the best year of Pasadena Musical Theatre Program ever...and for making a truly unique first EVER full performance of Jasper in Deadland!
No. The $2600 is the difference between what was originally budgeted, and what we determined was needed to pull off the show. The actual cost is easily four or five times that amount.
As soon as the Kickstarter campaign ends, we will send an e-mail to all supporters asking for their contact information (e-mail address, mailing address, etc.). Physical gifts (photos, tote bags) will be mailed. If you receive tickets as part of your gift, please go directly to the "will call" table in the lobby of the auditorium at least 15 minutes prior to the performance; your tickets will be waiting for you. If you receive an ad or song as part of your gift, we will contact you directly to arrange that.
As soon as the Kickstarter campaign closes, you will receive an e-mail with tax information.
