First out of the kiln will be a series of individually made ceramic medallions fired with the beautiful traditional raku glazes. At approximately 8cm diameter each medallion will be adorned with an organic texture and hung with textured twine or leather as appropriate.
Join us for the outdoor raku firing and fire your very own stone that you have glazed with the glaze of your choice. With refreshments this makes a wonderful entertaining afternoon with the spectacular firing process as the highlight. Social distancing, limited numbers and disposable face masks will be supplied if still needed. It will be outdoors so please dress for the weather!
An individually hand made ceramic bowl beautifully finished with raku glazes. Approximately 18cm diameter each bowl will have an element of sprig decoration in keeping with Paula's organic, sculptural work. Due to the making process there will naturally be variety in the bowls making each unique.
A wonderful two-part workshop to experience the raku process from start to finish. Make your own piece from clay at the first 2 hour workshop, have it bisque fired then return for the second afternoon workshop to glaze then fire your piece. Watching your piece come out of the kiln then being engulfed in the flames is spectacular entertainment.
I believe passionately in people being able to participate in as much of the making process as possible and this will give you the chance to do that for the beautiful raku process.
Paula will make a series of unique sculptural pieces especially for this project. Inspired by the raku firing process and her love of the organic each of these will be made by hand and lovingly finished in raku glazes making a beautiful focal piece for the home.
These haven't been designed yet so please only go for this option if you know you like my style and work.
