We are attempting to raise $10,000 ($16k stretch goal) to partially fund a recording and video project throughout over a dozen National Parks around the US. This is a massive dream of ours and we can't do it without your financial help. Will you please consider supporting us in this way?
About a year ago, we had a crazy idea, that instead of writing our next record in a traditional and uninspiring studio, perhaps we should write it in the places that inspire us most. For us, that was National Parks.
We decided to sell our personal vehicles and buy an old sprinter van to use as a home base and recording studio around the country. We were also fortunate enough to secure the help of 7 incredible brand sponsors who have provided most of our food and camping gear throughout this endeavor.
Every step of this process has been a challenge, from selling most of our music gear to purchase a livable sprinter van, to securing sponsors for camping gear and equipment, to the now very expensive repairs we've had to make to keep the van running safely.
Our journey through the parks began in February and then picked up again on May 24th. We are now spending the month of June finishing up our ambitious goal which we hope will include visiting a total of 13 of our favorite parks across the US.
Because of the very costly and unexpected van repairs, as well as our desire to produce not only our next album but also a video series of the trip, we do not have the resources to finish this project on our own. It's something we simply can't do without your help!
We’ve sold every personal item we could part with to make this trip happen, but we're still nowhere close to the number that this project demands. We're asking you as our friends and biggest supporters, to help us raise $10,000 in order to help see this music and video project through to the end.
We really believe in this work and ultimately hope to pioneer new ways for people to create. We would love to inspire more people to explore what that might mean for themselves by re-landscaping the environment for artists to feel more freedom and empowerment in what they do. We have already been encouraged by messages from other artists and musicians saying this project has given them new ideas for their own work.
The most important thing to us is for you to understand how grateful we are for your support and what a necessary role you play in everything that we do as musicians. We hope you'll like the rewards we've chosen. If you have any questions or custom requests please feel free to email us HERE.
Excitedly, we are planning to have a thank you party for all of our supporters at one of our favorites places in the Atlanta area later this year (hopefully as early as the fall). We will post more details about that event as we have them, but we are confident it will be a really fun night for all involved and we look forward to thanking each of you in person!
Additionally, and possibly most important, we hope to have the new album completed in early 2018. By becoming a backer, you ensure that you'll be one of the first people to receive it upon completion. Once again, we're incredibly grateful that you would help us create this!
$10,000 is a modest estimate that will get our project into the safe zone as far as our immediate needs including van repairs, gas, and videographer expenses. Our stretch goal is $16,000 and anything you graciously help us raise beyond 10k will go to finalizing the new album and video production, as well as promotional and marketing costs.
Please keep in mind that the Kickstarter platform is "all or nothing", which means that if we do not meet our goal of $10,000 by July 10th, the project will not be funded and we will not receive a dime. We'd be honored if you'd consider sharing our project on your own social media platforms or with friends who you think would be interested in it.
We feel very fortunate to have several sponsors who have helped us by providing essential gear needed for this project. We would like to give a shout out and special thanks to:
Risks and challenges
A project of this magnitude is pretty daunting. We've worked tirelessly for nearly a year to make sure we've figured out the route, expenses, correct gear, and a vehicle that can sleep several people as well as work as a mobile studio.
The biggest threat to our project so far has been mechanical issues with our van. After having it checked out by multiple mechanics and taking every precaution possible by replacing a lot of Rudolph's old parts before we left, we broke down in Bryce Canyon during the first half of our recording journey. Now, over $3000 in repairs later, we are hoping the van will be able to finish the rest of the trip strong.
Upon completion of our ambitious National Park route, we face the challenge of completing the album and video project in a timely manner so that we can continue our aggressive tour schedule in 2018. Without you, we wouldn't be able to do what we do and we look forward to seeing you on the road very soon.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
