I really don't want to seem confrontational, but you guys really need to get your act together. You've come on kickstarter asking people to contribute $800 to your project, yet your updates have made it seem like you're not interested in gaining any backers or endearing your existing backers to your product. In fact, all you've done is do the opposite. I've really got to question how competent you'll be in fulfilling orders or addressing technical problems if you demonstrate such poor judgement in posting that hoodie picture as an apparently adequate example. Not exactly selling it are we? You then respond to the uproar saying it was only an early test print (which begs the question of why post it?) but you then go on to still say it's a good example.
The icing on the cake for me was the statement "We stopped the squirrel towards the end because it was late and we wanted to go home." Well that just says it all to me about your lack of dedication if you couldn't even be bothered to wait for it to be finished. That's assuming this was even the reason. Perhaps it was caused by the printer breaking down half way. Who knows. Regardless, your explanation reeks of indifference to your customers and their money. If this was my project, I'd want to make sure I provided the best possible examples for my potential customers (which I'm relying on to launch this thing!) not half assed and half finished. Why bother posting the squirrel at all if you're not going to show a complete one? Making such a lazy update with no attempt at actually SELLING your idea is just insulting to those who already believed in the project. Well it seems your backers are dropping like flies now as you've lost nearly $10,000 since that hoodie update. It makes me sad, but you've brought it in yourselves. What were you thinking?!
Hi Rhodri. We weren't intending to sound cavalier regarding the squirrel. It's a good example print. I believe we were printing it at an external event, possibly a the Ladies Learning Code party, and we had to leave because the party was over.
Can you give some details on the settings used for these prints?
Layer height (0.2mm, 0.1mm)?
Print speed (60mm/s, 30mm/s, etc...)?
Temperature is 220 C
Layer height varies between 0.1 and 0.15mm
Print speed was between 30 and 40mm/s, using different speeds on perimeters, external perimeters and infill.
