PanaCast app available on Android

We are excited to announce early adopter availability of the PanaCast app for Android on Google Play today.

We now have apps available for Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android, enabling the full PanaCast Experience collaboration experience with individual control: each meeting participant can individually pan and zoom in any panoramic video stream in the session, giving you the same control of actually being there (i.e. you can see everything and you chose what you focus on).

In addition we also have the PanaCam mode available on both Windows and Mac. In this mode you use the camera as a webcam but with 200 degree field-of-view. This works natively with WebEx, Lync, GoToMeeting and many other video collaboration services.

PanaCast Experience early-adopter versions available on Windows and Mac

Hi All,  in addition the PanaCam mode we just described in the previous update, we want to update you on the full PanaCast Experience service:

After a lot of testing, we have started early-adopter deployment of our Windows 7, 8 and Mac OS X PanaCast clients, in addition to the iOS version we have had ready for a while. These clients use the optional PanaCast Experience with its cloud service to create completely unique TelePresence-like video conferences for up to 50 simultaneous participants, where each participant simultaneaously can pan and zoom independently of others, giving you the individual control and view just like you were there! It allows 3 (for the basic version) or 5 (for the upcoming Pro version) PanaCast cameras in the same session. You can download a trial version for Windows right here: Max OS early adopter version is available from us now and Android is next up in 1-2 months.

Note that the PanaCast Experience is an optional cloud based video collaboration service we are offering with sophisticated audio/video processing in the cloud, hosted by us. Current pricing is set at $699/year although we will allow an initial trial period at no charge.

PanaCam mode for use with existing video collaboration services

Hi All,

We are pleased to announce our new PanaCam capability. This allows you to use the PanaCast Camera directly with existing services like Cisco WebEx, Microsoft Lync, Citrix GoToMeeting, Zoom, and some others. Skype also works but does not go to full resolution due to a more conservative rate adaption mechanism Skype uses. In PanaCam mode, it works very much like a webcam but better: It is still network connected so you don't have to move it with your laptop. The camera shows up to the OS just like the built-in camera or a webcam so you can use it with most video collaboration tools. For most (but not all) services you can control pan and zoom locally on the host machine (just like you control a PTZ webcam today) and the clients now will display a wide panoramic video stream with no change or update to software or use model. You only need to install a small piece of software on the host machine to enable this PanaCam mode. The early adopter version is ready for Windows XP, 7 and 8 host machines today with Mac OS X scheduled for early-Sept.

Announcing a Better, Faster and Smoother Support Process
