PaceMasters Watches is a brand of racing-inspired timepieces, which was founded by Eugene - a 32 years old motorsport fan and watch enthusiast. He has built up a small team of the watch and car designers from New York, Berlin, Istanbul, and Zurich, who draw inspiration from motorsports and Formula 1 particularly. In the last 20 months, the team has been working hard on creating the concept from scratch, starting from sketches, building several prototypes and fine-tuning them, and finally having the actual product on the wrist today.
With Paddock Chronograph on the wrist, we have traveled the world and visited Formula 1 Grand Prix, Europen Le Mans Series (ELMS) and GT-series races to collect feedback from professional racing drivers directly. We are very glad some has joined PaceMasters as ambassadors sharing the same motto: #Keep Pace to Win the Race!
Paddock Chronograph is the first timepiece from the racing-inspired collection.
Racing has always been a part of our lives and having a spirit of competition we are starting this year to fight through the peloton of automotive-inspired watch brands targeting to get the podium one day.
As a company we share common values with motorsports: dedication, hard-working, creating team spirit, being patient and keeping eyes on the prize.
Paddock name comes from the limited access enclosed area on the racing circuit behind the pits in which the teams keep their motorhomes and where all the behind-the-curtains racing life is happening. There is no admission to the public to this area, and one should have a special Paddock Club Admission to get there, which makes Paddock Chronograph feels on the wrist like a privileged pass to the world of racing.
Acid Yellow color is being used in racing to highlight and grab attention to the most significant objects. Moreover, Acid Yellow is used to identify the Hybrid technology, widely used in motorsports and which has become a part of modern supercars.
Pit Board is a striking highlight of Paddock Chronograph forming the unique look of the model. Original Pit Board has been used in racing since early days to display the driver his position, time breaks from other drivers, the number of laps to go, and information about pit stop or rules violations.
In Paddock Chronograph the Pit Board frames the date window and comes with a racing message "Laps to Go" on it.
The date disk has been modified for Paddock Chronograph - these authentic font and color is a unique combination for the watch industry.
In the future, more messages would be offered to honor various race drivers, teams and significant moments in racing history. PaceMasters team is talking to drivers, teams and racing organizations for collaborations.
Sector marks are dividing chapter ring into three timing zones, each having its own color just like a real race circuit scheme.
Pole position is the first place on the starting grid, as awarded to the driver who recorded the fastest lap time in the qualifying session. Next to the Pole position, there is a 0-mark (instead of traditional 12) which stands for the countdown start point.
3 sub-dials are aligned vertically and are used when chronograph function is active to measure seconds, minutes and hours. The main second hand is running with 1/5 of a second intervals.
The chassis of Paddock Chronograph is made of a high-grade 316 Stainless Steel, the case is CNC machined and there are various polishing applied.
The dial consists of 6 layers, including a base layer, a 0,4mm real carbon fiber layer, sector marks on the chapter ring, three sub-dials, applied numerals, and the Pit Board.
We use genuine Alcantara fabric for the straps of Paddock Chronograph. Alcantara is an expensive and innovative covering material, the result of a unique and proprietary technology. It offers an extraordinary combination of sensory, aesthetic and functional values, and an ethical and social awareness that defines a contemporary lifestyle. This fabric is widely used in the supercar industry as interior covering material.
Original Alcantara is manufactured only in Italy and we have a direct contact with the manufacturer for purchasing the material for our straps.
Just like a modern race car Paddock Chronograph is powered by a Hybrid technology: a Meca-Quartz Movement from Seiko Group - TMI VK67 (Japan made premium chronograph series).
Meca-quartz technology is a combination of a battery-powered movement regulated by a quartz crystal to run main hands, and a Mechanical engine controlled with a set of gears, hammers, wheels, and levers to operate the chronograph function. The sweep main second hand is ticking in 1/5 sec increments - just like a hi-end mechanical chronograph.
Paddock Chronograph will be offered in 3 different case colors with various finishing: Black PVD, Grey matte, and Silver/Steel. Every watch comes with a standard Black Leather strap (integrated type) with contrast stitching.
- Do I need to decide on the case color right now?
Not necessary. First you make the reservation/pledge and you at the end of pre-order period you will receive the survey where you will specify the case color and the strap contrast stitching (if you have upgraded to Alcantara option).
- Alcantara strap is available as an Upgrade and comes with 6 different stitching color options to match the livery of your favorite racing team or driver.

PaceMasters Watches was launched in 2017 by a small team of professional watchmakers, designers, car enthusiast and racing lovers.
We draw inspiration from motorsports and Formula 1 particularly.
PaceMasters name is a blend of the two words related to racing: Pace and Master. Motorsports is all about keeping the maximum possible pace at the limit of driver's concentration, and this is where you have to be the Master of Pace. The logo consists of three objects: a flag, a race circuit with an intersection scheme, and a combination of P&M letters.
We are sharing some background of the product development process as well as more personal stories about racing and life on the Blog section of the website. Also make sure you are following us on the Instagram.
You can see some of the sketches and design iterations below.
Risks and challenges
Look, we have done our homework. Really.
The team has been working on the project for almost 2 years, we have invested our own funds to get where we are now. From just a slight idea "why don't we make the truly racing-inspired watches?" to the product on the wrist right now.
We have a reliable manufacturing partner who we visited in person several times. We have received and tested two rounds of prototypes and having third iteration sample (pre-production) in hands.
To ensure that every watch is manufactured to the standard and delivered in time, we will be maintaining constant and personal contact with the factory during the entire production cycle.
Of course, we do understand that some unforeseen issues or delays might come up due to different reasons, but we promise to keep you updated. Our supporters who had been following the project from early times on the forums and social media know that we are always open and are fast in communication.
