Nice! Looking forward to start on it :D
@everyone that's all made possible thanks to your support!
This will be a lot of fun! Will be sending as well a survey in case you have suggestions for other topics we could include in future courses or written tutorials. I was surprised to see so much interest in the huge game worlds course (that is a topic I find quite interesting myself). Maybe there are other cool topics we haven't thought about.
congrats on another successful campaign Pablo! :)
YahoooooooaaaaaAAA!!!!!! Looking forward to multiplayer!!!! and huge game world!!!!!
Thank you for adding the huge game world! :D
Congrats! Thank you for unlocking the final stretch goal as well. So excited to get started on these courses!
Look forward to learning and developing AR apps
I am so excited that you reached the goals can not wait to start learning game development.
We did it!! Massive thanks everybody!! :D
@Wybe yes we'll be including the Huge Worlds course! I never thought it would be so popular but a lot of people have asked for it so we'll squeeze it in even if we don't reach the 50k.
@Damien everything new is recorded on 2017 but some of the content was recorded on 5.6. There are no major differences between the two for the things we are doing and the UI is the same. In the whole VR Mini-Degree (over 40 hours of video) I've only had to change a single line of code so far.
Are you using the latest Unity in your tutorials? Unity 2017? If not, are the differences gone over. I'm wondering for the VR classes you have.
Looking good. The entire course looks great and I can't wait to get started with it but what I'm looking forward to most of all is the Huge Worlds so I'm really glad it looks like we'll be getting that!
@Leandro indeed! the Game Development Mini-Degree courses will now all have English subtitles!
@Mihir all sharing helps, for sure!!
@Nick it's pretty much certain now we'll include the Huge Worlds course as well! Thanks so much for your contribution :)
@Nick thanks a lot for going full Emperor! :) Yes absolutely! Once the campaign ends and Kickstarter sends us the final list of backers (usually ~1 week after the campaign finishes) we'll give you and all the other backers access to everything we have ready. In your case that will include all of those extra courses. New courses will be added to your account as they are recorded. November is the final date to complete everything, although some Stretch Goals could take a little bit longer.
Hey Pablo, i believe in you and in your work, everything is Amazing!!
I got a question:i pledge the big pack with lot's of preavious courses already available. Is it possibile to get other courses before the november 2017?
Nice work people. Let's share this campaign even more with friends and family or just strangers :)
I updated my pledge before to get CC which will help my fellow backers that have trouble with English to learn at their own pace, and we're at 41k onwards to 50k!
Great !! Now we have CC and no word will be lost during the hearing.
Many thanks for upgrading your pledge @nick! 100% agree, Kickstarter is where anything can happen!
I am fine with a written tutorial for huge open worlds but I feel confident we'll get to 45k or maybe 50k crazy things happen on Kickstarter.
Thanks @nick! Let me know if there are any topics you'd like to see covered in either courses or tutorials.
Hey man either way me and all the other backers are happy to help fund this project and I personally look forward to what ideas you have for Kickstarter and outside of it.
@everyone last few days left! I'm overhauling all ads and promotional activity so we can raise as much as possible. If we get passed 45k we might be able to throw the huge world course in as it seems to be a popular topic and we were hoping to build it as well.
@martin yeah same here!
i personally would love the huge worlds.
I really hope that we got CC strecth goal in 4 days , at least in most of videos. I hear reasonably English, but would be faster and better with some subtitles.
@Arturo thanks so much! Your comment means a lot to us!
@Zdravko welcome aboard! Let me know of there are any topics in particular you are interested in. We keep a list of ideas
@Nick thanks for backing us! Even if we don't make it, we might cover this in a written tutorial in the future as its a cool topic to explore
I have just changed my contribution to EMPEROR / EMPRESS to reach goal 4 (i'm not native english and cc is a great value for me!). I have really enjoyed phaser zenva courses and courses are really the best ones in web. Keep on doing great courses!!
I don't know how I missed your previous campaigns but I am glad I got to back this one. Looking forward to it and wish you luck with the stretch goals - we all benefit from it. I really hope I can learn something new, although I am not particularly new to programming.
Thanks hopefully you get to 50,000 really want that open world course.
@Matt thanks for increasing your pledge!
@Nick thanks a lot for supporting us! Once the campaign finishes and we get the final list of backers, you'll be given access to our reward delivery system where you'll be able to select the option you want :)
Awesome. Just grabbed one. Thanks.
Are you going to send us an email to ask if we want VR or Python if we backed that tier?
Any chance on opening up more of the three course option?
STRETCH GOAL #3 UNLOCKED!
This means the Game Development Mini-Degree will now include an additional course on game cut scenes and storytelling using Unity's new cinematographic features :D
@Tzukasa, thank you for backing us :) you can complete the course using Windows or Mac. Some of the courses are recorded on a Windows system, others on a Mac. There is no difference when using Unity.
Do I need a windows system to Programm the games ?
@Bobby, thanks for backing us! We often get thank you emails or reviews of people saying our courses helped them in different ways. I've heard people saying they got jobs, found contract work, built an MVP for their startup, or simply published games for fun. Some of them have decided to share their stories, this includes people publishing games and contract work: https://gamedevacademy.org/category/game-development-interviews/ , see these:
It's important to mention that neither our courses nor any course out there will just work out of the box. You need to put in the hours and time, code along, build a portfolio, etc. All we can do on our end is create good content and provide support when needed.
Hello Pablo, have you had any graduates succeed in finding an employer upon completion?
@Stanley, the Game Development Mini-Degree covers only C# and Unity. You can build browser games with Unity however they are a bit heavy.
Azure is a good platform. My University teacher use it to teach their online classes.
@Mihir we certainly hope so too! At least two Stretch Goals have already been unlocked :) Hope we reach many more.
@Anthony thanks for your comment! I think it's highly likely we'll reach that one, we have 27 days left and at this pace it's almost certain we will :) We'll be using Unity 2017's new cinematographic features to cover this topic, I'm very excited to learn it as well (author (almost confirmed) will be a trainer whose strong point is design and animation).
@Stanley to watch our videos you need a web browser with an Internet connection. We don't have offline mode, however we are in the process of implementing a much better video player (we are moving from Vimeo to Microsoft Azure) which gives users the option to watch a very low frame rates to save bandwidth. There is no time limit to access our courses - lifelong access!
Can the videos and lessons be downloaded for offline use? And is there some kind of time limit on how long you have access?
Awesome! I really hope we get to that cutscene, story-telling goal, that's definitely something I'd love to see even if we don't get there as a purchasable course anyhow. Currently getting through your Build a Legend of Zelda course and it's great stuff!
