@Daniel Murray: In fact we did send out the backer survey, as promised, for those who pledged for tiers not including the vinyl box set. And we have indeed shipped the the pins and download cards to those backers. The only slight delay has been for those backers who had been expecting art prints. We decided to upgrade the design with a fantastic gold foil printing process and alerted them of that change, and the resulting delay, weeks ago. The vinyl box sets are right on schedule. We'll send out the backer survey for those tiers as the ship date gets closer. Thanks!

      Hello!

Bump on whether the survey has been sent out yet?

      Thanks!

Just repeating a question here, but I don't see an answer yet: have the surveys gone out?
      Thanks!

Hi OZMA Records, Just to be sure about the upcoming backer survey as I will be moving between April and August: I have backed for the $98 boxset pledge. Is this set fully expected for August shipping or are there parts in it that you will ship in April?

I was a schoolboy in the south Indian state of Kerala when Voyager 1 was launched in 1977. Years before that, my brothers and I had followed – like so many young people of our time – the Apollo missions, and had kept detailed scrap books filled with grainy newspapers photographs of the mission to the moon. Kerala was a sleepy backwater then (and still is), pretty much like Oz: a place "very far away, difficult to reach, and populated by strange and exotic beings." But the first rocket launching station of India’s successful space program came up in my hometown in 1962, the year I was born: the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station. And I guess many of us who grew up in that extraordinary decade kept an eye on the stars even as America’s legendary space program began to falter.

In my 40s, when I decided to settle in Goa, I discovered that the Indian voice on the Golden Record belonged to the great classical singer, Kesarbai Kerkar, who was born in Keri (Querim) in Portuguese Goa. Her song, in Raag Bhairavi, begins: ‘Jaat kahan ho akeli gori’, said to be sung by a mother to her young daughter as she runs off see the village fair. But it is also the song of the Voyager craft itself, now 20 billion kilometers from Earth: ‘Where are you going alone, girl…?’

Kesarbai Kerkar died on 16 September 1977, just days after Voyager 1 was launched. Though famous in her time, Kesarbai recorded very few songs. But as Sagan said, even when everything on Earth we’ve ever made has crumbled into dust, the Voyager record will speak for her and for us.

Probably the coolest Kickstarter I've backed. Looking forward to more updates and seeing the final pieces!

I cannot wait for this release. I've been fascinated by the original "record" since I first read about it I Carl Sagan's COSMOS back in the early 90's. And now I'm proud and very excited to be a backer for this amazing project.

      Great update.
And I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that the record player in the video is a Linn Axis? I have the same table, and indeed will be listening to my Voyager records on one.
So glad to be a part of this brilliant project and am really enjoying these updates.
That record cover is a beautiful piece of art.
      Thanks team!
      Richard.

@Judd Johnson, Hi there! I'm so sorry we missed your original comment as we had already responded to a direct message from someone else at Colorado Video early on in the project! We would love to chat. Please email ozma@pesco.net or send us a direct message here. Frank Drake spoke so highly of all of you. Thank you and apologies again!

still alive, who were there when the scans/encoding was performed. I have never heard a word
back from anyone in your group. -judd johnson- Boulder CO

I would bet that those items, the drawing in particular — would likely fetch over 100K at auction, if not more. That is some famous original art right there.
