New Lore Video & End of Crowdfunding

Posted by Berserkerkitten (Collaborator)

Dear Pathfinders,

We are very happy to bring you a brand new video today! Learn more about Golarion and the Stolen Lands from Paizo's very own Creative Director James Jacobs below!

Perhaps you have friends, who have voiced interest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker, but they're unfamiliar with the lore? Feel free to share this video and help them learn what the setting is all about!

Crowdfunding ends this Friday!

As previously announced, we are about to stop collecting money towards the unlocking of additional stretchgoals. As you all know, we are aiming to release the full version of Pathfinder: Kingmaker in late summer 2018. And that means there has to be a cutoff point, where we stop promising and adding new features in order to give ourselves enough time to complete the game. As of this moment, we're at a crowdfunding sum of about 1,080,000 USD. Unfortunately, this means that Hellknights didn't quite make it in time. Sorry!

Many of you have asked whether Hellknights could be added later via post-release DLC. While we can't promise it at this point, it's a possibility. We really enjoy working on this title and since many of you keep asking for post-release content, we need to consider it. The nature and amount of such content, however, remains to be determined at a later date. Please bear with us!

As our crowdfunding is coming to an end, so is our current offer of pre-order packages. They will be replaced by different pre-order packs, which can be purchased over on Pathfinder: Kingmaker is also getting its very own Steam page in the coming days! A little while later, sometime around early June, pre-orders for Pathfinder: Kingmaker will also come to the Steam Store, followed by pre-orders on GoG within the first half of June.

And now for something completely different

If you're supporting us on Kickstarter, chances are, you enjoy old-school isometric cRPGs. Why not take a look at Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness while you're here? The good folks at GrapeOcean Technologies have already reached their Kickstarter funding goal and there are a few more days to go before their campaign ends. Much like Pathfinder: Kingmaker, their game is inspired by Baldur's Gate. One cool mechanic in Black Geyser is greed, which corrupts the world as you progress through your adventure. Will you succumb to your darkest desires and help spread the greed or will you fight to put an end to it?

Thank you all for your support and have a fantastic weekend!

Hail to the Kings!

Damn, I follow James Jacobs' work since he wrote the Demonomicon of Iggwilv series of articles in Dragon Magazine, but I didn't know he was that cute for an older guy.

Glad you got it all sorted. These guys are super nice and we wish them and their project all the best! :)

WOW! That was... funny thing to experience. Yeah, I found their project page on facebook and they responded kindly. And explained all the thinks. And... looks like I was trying to look for their studio contact instead of the project one ;)

So if anyone is feeling concerned, do no longer. Black Geyser is a great project. I have been watching them before this update and really keep my fingers crossed for the developers, because they're creating a great game. I think they should have more backers there. So... go there... support them! :) I will for sure!

Not to derail this here, but this is what Black Geyser posted in their KS's comment section:

We're equally saddened by the (currently upmost) backer comment under the Pathfinder update that states Black Geyser is cut off from its fans because there is no way to contact us (we continuously receive and replyr Facebook and Kickstarter private messages, so both contact options work) and that our twitter account is suspended (nothing is suspended). We sincerely hope that this is a misunderstanding, so we hope a Pathfinder-Black Geyser backer will soon point out to him/her that these claims are surely misunderstanding and we would happy to answer whatever questions he/she has.

It would be a pity if the misunderstanding in that upmost post prevented potential backers from taking a look at the campaign. :(

I was watching Black Geyser campaign, but they are really cut off of their fans. No message button on facebook, twitter account suspended, no other contact way than the form on the site. That doesn't look promising, since they lack detailed information in the campaign description (+ in same cases description is misleading like different information in the pledge levels on sidebar vs pictures in the campaign description). Sad...

TECHNICALLY.... you could always say crowdfunding continues, but any goals reached after Friday will not be included in the 2018 release (expansions are awesome)

    7. Paladin Ryan on

It isn't realistic but it never hurts to hope.

    8. Berserkerkitten on

We'd have to make another 20 grand in a single day, so that's probably not very realistic.

    9. Interstellar Marine on

You say crowdfunding ends this Friday, does that mean we can get the Hell-knights if 1.1 million is achieved by Friday? Hypothetically?

    10. Berserkerkitten on

@Kamigoroshi - yeah, they told us that we had quite a few backers in common. How cool is that? :D

    11. Berserkerkitten on

@Colin - weird. Works fine for me. When I highlight it, it shows
      That's where it takes me.

Lovely to see you guys doing a shoutout for another kickstarter project I'm currently backing! :)
Black Geyser really deserves more backer love.

Your link doesn't go to the other kickstarter project, but to the pathfinder one for me.
