Let's make a book about small and beautiful wine regions written by the winemakers themselves. I will round up winemakers who are ready to describe the wonderful places where they live and work. We will share exactly what makes our wine regions unique and special.
I myself am a winemaker in the south of France in an obscure but beautiful region called the Cabardès.
My region is unique and nuanced, but it is tiny and commercially insignificant. Established wine writers rarely devote more than a paragraph or two to my land. And that short passage tends to have an objective, encyclopedic tone. It can never convey the way winemakers like me feel about our land. We love the land. So I want to assemble several testimonials where the reader can share the point of view of a winemaker. Our perspective from the ground, working the land, and tending to the plants will make for a poetic and beautiful read that can be as interesting to a casual reader as well as an engaged wine expert.

I've written a whole section of the book about my own region so you can read a concrete example of what I have in mind.
This book will have several sections like this one, but each section will be about a different region and it will be written by a winemaker from that area.
I wrote my own section spending my own time and money. The book has gotten great reviews from within the wine world. With your support, we could make a full length book that changes the way farmers and winemakers communicate about their land. We won't need to depend on established publishers to tell our stories.
Basically, each section will cost about $1000. If I hit my goal of $5000, I'll put a book out with five sections and we'll be able to share the unique identities of five different wine regions. If we exceed that goal, I'll add another wine region for every $1000 we go over the goal. This will cover the cost of research, writing, photography, mapmaking, design, layout, printing and promotion.
