The publishers of the wildly successful Good Cop Bad Cop are excited to bring you the next entry in their line of hidden role games: BOOZE BARONS. Booze Barons is a hidden identity and deduction game set in the time of US Prohibition where 3 mobs compete to become the most profitable mob in town.
There is no player elimination. There is no open your eyes/close your eyes phase. The game is designed to reward players for paying attention on other players' turns, so all players are engaged the entire time.
Booze Barons offers plenty of opportunities to deceive and mislead your opponents, but it never forces you to lie. This makes the game adaptable to any group's preferred style of play.
Another unique component is that there are always 3 teams competing for supremacy. Part of the beauty of the game is the experience of figuring out who is on your team or who is against you.
If you want to learn the rules of the game, take a look at the How to Play video and/or the Setup Video by the designer himself, Jeremy Commandeur. If you'd like, you can read the rules, too. A limited print & play version of the game is also available right here.
You can check out E. Kokkila Schumacher's Choose Your Own Adventure story below to get a feeling for the characters, art, and setting.
The art is done by Derek Bacon, a professional tabletop game artist who has worked on Tower, Baldrick's Tomb, and Smash Monster Rampage, among many others.
Derek's artwork brings each of the Bootleggers in Booze Barons to life and takes you to the various locations at which you'll be peddling your booze.
The most important thing we want you to know is that Booze Barons has been playtested extensively. Among many others, Booze Barons has been playtested at the following events:
- Protospiel Michigan
- Protospiel Austin
- Protospiel Houston
- Protospiel San Jose
- Unpub 5

Do you know the name of the booze you'd like to secretly bootleg and deliver? If so, let us know!
There are nine unique types of booze that are delivered in Booze Barons, and we want you to tell us what they are. Leave your ideas in the comments, or chime in when someone else suggests a name that you like.
Keep in mind that these are the types of beer, wine, and liquor that the mobs are brewing rather than the names of mixed drinks. As an example, here are the names of the booze from the prototype:
New Salem is a hidden identity, deduction, drafting, and set collection game for 3-8 players. The game takes place during the Salem Witch Trials, and you are one of several Salem villagers who has decided to abandon their witch-ridden town to start anew. But there may be a witch (or witches) in your midst!
It creates an experience where each player is working independently to score the most points while also working together to prevent a witch from winning.
New Salem features the breathtaking art of Andrea Ogliati of Hide Art. The characters are beautifully illustrated, and the building cards that you will use to build your sets come together to form an incredible panoramic scene.
Noah Adelman of Game Trayz has worked to design a premium box insert for Booze Barons. Check out the images and video below to see just how easy setup can be!
All copies of Booze Barons (MSRP $39.99 USD) received as a Kickstarter reward will be shipped before the game enters distribution.
All of our stretch goals are based on improving the game's components. We will not introduce any stretch goals that will put manufacturing or shipping at risk.
