We're that ridiculous metal band that you may or may not have heard of... Dethlehem! We dress in armor and play music about slaying dragons, drinking ale, playing RPGs, and battling other creatures we make up. We're nerds with a sense of humor... sometimes distasteful and possibly controversial, but always hilarious. Well, we need your help!
We're running out of gold!
Dethlehem is a very hands-on, DIY kind of band. We do all of our own artwork, videos, web design, booking, managing and recording! We also write our own music and lyrics, but I mean, that's a given.
Our first two albums were produced by our resident bassist, Hank the Guy. Despite Hank looking like an old, barbarian version of Michael McDonald, he is really good at recording and mixing. However, Hank is NOT very good at mastering. Seriously, he's a Level 2 n00b. For our third album, we want to pay for an AWESOME mastering job done by a big name producer in the metal scene. We have been eyeing a few potential people that have impressive credentials and credits. Once we have the funding, we'll make our decision on who to go with!
What progress has been made?
Currently, we're about 85% of the way through the recording process. When the recording is completed, we'll move on to mixing, which will be done in-house. Once our project is funded and the album is mixed, we'll move on to mastering. After that, the album will be 100% complete and we'll attempt to ink a distribution deal with a label to increase our reach and opportunity. Hopefully, a complete album by a DIY band (and the support of their awesome fan-base!) will be a solid, no-brainer investment for a label. Anything's possible, but we fully believe we have a solid album on our hands, so we shall see where it takes us.

If we reach $4,000, we'll be able to include more artwork and space for lyrics in a multi-page album booklet.
If we reach $5,000, we'll use the extra money to commission a stage costume for Knightmare, the antagonist of this album. The biggest baddie of them all will come to life on stage at our live shows!
If we reach $10,000, we'll have enough to make a vinyl pressing of the album for everyone who donated $50 or more! (Vinyl will include unique artwork not found anywhere else.)
Risks and challenges
There is no risk, as far as the album is concerned. Ideally, once our project is funded and the album is professionally mastered, we will use the finished product to obtain a distribution deal with a record label. If, however, we are unable to secure a deal with a label, we will self-release the album just as we have our previous albums. Either way, as long as our project is funded, you, the donors, will receive the album and your donation level reward(s). It's only a matter of whether we put it out ourselves or through a label.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
