Gluten Free in the Great Plains started just over a year ago when Amanda learned that she had to switch to gluten free living (in addition to having been dairy-free for a number of years prior). Being passionate about baking and unwilling to sacrifice her favorite foods, she immediately set to work to find a way that she could still enjoy her favorite treats. Right away friends and family responded by requesting cupcakes for their gatherings and not too long after we were selling out of treats at our neighborhood farmers' market. We want to take our baking to the next level. We lucked into a great opportunity for a shared co-op kitchen where we can work without Amanda getting sick and make treats anyone can enjoy. This will let us increase our baking capacity and allow us to reach new customers that we've never had the opportunity to reach (grocery and retail stores, events, online orders, etc.). We are asking for the money to help cover the first 6 months rent in the new space, commercial-grade supplies (our plastic whisk isn't cutting it), and some other start up costs to help us get established.
