A live music documentary production about LGBTQ Music Culture & Equality with the OUTmusic Awards platform as the center piece.
Support OUTMUSIC - the LGBT Academy of Recording Arts (LARA) in our quest to amplify the music of LGBTQ recording artists who sing and write the LGBTQ songs of Freedom that make up the soundtrack to the Equality Movement.
WE ARE NOT TRADITIONALLY FUNDED.... OUTmusic - The LGBTQ Academy of Recording Arts (LARA) is a 501c3 non-profit music and arts organization. We depend on cash donations, in-kind donations and volunteers to back our production costs. Grass root fundraising with small sponsorships is how we've been able to produce our productions in the past.
This year we decided to launch a Kickstartser campaign because it will allow us to crowd fund worldwide! We believe WE can raise our goal of $200k and far beyond! Due to the recent success of the modern day LGBTQ Civil Rights Movement, the paradigm shift in the music industry has started to take place. We want to capture this transformation on film and release the completed film in theaters worldwide.
Please help to empower the LARA to ensure that Queer Music Culture is recognized as an integral part of the media and music industry worldwide.
KICKSTARTER PLATFORM EXPOSES OUR PROJECT TO MILLIONS! With Kickstarter's platform, will help us to spread the word about our project to reach millions. If Millions of people who believe in LGBTQ Equality donated just $1 dollar to back this project, our film and the OUTmusic Awards would SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND! (Maybe we could get Rihanna to support us by seeing her song title trending on Twitter).
$200k will support our production to get the job done, BUT with millions of dollars, we would have more than enough funding to raise the level of our production even higher! "For Which WE Stand (One Queer Music Nation In The Visible)" will be released in theaters worldwide!
THE TIME IS RIGHT NOW! The Academy has been striving for 23 years to ensure that Queer Music Culture be celebrated and recognized equally in media and the music industry. The time is now!
THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO SHINE AS BRIGHT! Completing this film project will shine a bright light on LARA and the work we do to create more opportunities for LGBTQ recording artists. Wouldn't it be awesome to see the OMAs shine as bright as the VMAs? We are relying on those of you who believe in EQUALITY to make our campaign a huge success!
Let's Go Kickstarter Viral via Social Media! You can help the Academy to amplify Queer Music Culture for the whole world to hear and see! Simply Facebook, Twitter and Youtube share our project after you've made your pledge! Follow us on Twitter @outmusicawards Like us on Facebook @outmusicawards.
Please Tell Everyone and Every LGBTQ Recording Artist you know about OUTmusic - The LGBT Academy of Recording Arts (LARA), our amazing film documentary project "For Which WE Stand (One Queer Music Nation)" and the importance of our organization staying alive!
Tell them that they should back this project because Equality and Queer Music Rocks!
