Thank you so much for your support! Whatever we raise from now on will go toward bringing a second group of kids to the next festival.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about The Send-Off. The journey of making this film with everyone has been an unforgettable experience and we are incredibly grateful to be able to premiere The Send-Off at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival in January.
We are launching this campaign so that we can bring Tiana, Chris, Ta’Questa and Allen from the small town of Pahokee, Florida to Park City, Utah to participate in the festival and enjoy the experience of showing a film that they are featured in. It takes a lot of courage and trust to put yourself in front of a camera and let people into your life. While the experience of being filmed is unique, we feel that the opportunity to travel and see their film and other great films has the potential to be a transformative event.
It is our sincere hope that the film will resonate with audiences around the country and abroad following its domestic premiere. Any additional funds we raise on Kickstarter will be used to finance travel to future festivals for students who will not be able to join us for the premiere in Utah.
We have worked hard to create rewards that people will enjoy and that will provide a special connection to a project that continues to shape our hearts and our process as filmmakers. For those of you who don't know Patrick, he is a fine art photographer and printer as well. So he will go the extra mile to make museum quality editioned prints.
Thank you so much for helping us bring Pahokee to Sundance and The Send-Off to the world!
Ivete, Patrick and the entire Send-Off team

Risks and challenges
The project is completed. The only thing that is keeping the kids from attending the festival is funding. Other than that, there's always sickness or other "acts of God." Hopefully none of that will happen and we will all be celebrating at Sundance together.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
