About this project
What is Other Travel Project?
Through a determined process a selection ofartists and writers will be invited to participate in this unconventional publication. Each artist involved will receive an invitation to a specific place in New York City where the delivery of an installation or package will take place. The collaboration begins when the artist chooses to produce a piece in response to the installation received. This exchange will be documented and presented in the Other Travel book in conjunction with an exhibition.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are so grateful for the participation and support we have received with the launch of this project.
We have already planned delivery places and elaborate (large scale) installations tailored to fit each artists involved in the project.
Unfortunately, we cannot move forward at this point without additional funding. The most financially significant thing we need funding for is the publication, which will take up 75% of our allotted budget. We also need to buy materials for all of the installations planned and their delivery and also work with graphic designer duo Full-Time / Part-Time.
We deeply appreciate anything you can give us and look forward to seeing you at the show!
The Other World
This unique interaction depends on a belief in the ability of Hayden and Meriem to act as creative mediums, enabling the invited artist access to their creative “other” that exists in another plane of existence. The initial gift/package is a cross-planar process, starting with the artist’s “other” creation that is then filtered through the temporal aesthetics of the mediums.
WATCH THE Mediums' first delivery
In order to give you an idea of what an Other Travel delivery to an artist looks like, we had the awesome pleasure of organizing our first delivery to artist Amy von Harrington in Brooklyn last week, which you can watch in the video below:
