Lizardmen Unlocked!
You've done it! The Lizardmen have been unlocked, and are moving into the Underswamp as we speak!
And, since we passed the $725,000 mark as well, we'll also be adding the Dire Grove to the Underworld. A natural home for the Lizardmen, the Dire Grove is also home to the swamp willow, a tree that bears fluorescent berries with magical properties.
Next Up, Companion Creatures + Enhanced Music!
Exploring the Stygian Abyss can be a scary experience, so why do it alone? If we achieve the current $800,000 Stretch Goal, you won't have to! With the Companion Creature feature added to the game, players will be able to have a faithful little buddy tag along on their adventures. Companions might be useful in a fight, or in boosting skills and abilities, but they can also help the player in other unexpected ways.
We've been listening to our fans and have decided to move Enhanced Music down from the $850,000 stretch goal to the $800,000 goal, alongside the Companion Creatures. This will help ensure that more music tracks and more elaborate scores are added to the game. The music of the original Underworld games is memorable even to this day, and now we will be able to create music to inspire the next generation of CRPG gamers!
In addition when we get to $775,000, halfway through the Stretch Goal, we will build in the Stygian Abyss a new area, the Necrotic Graveyard. This dark and foreboding locale seems to hold an allure for the various monsters and creatures of the Stygian Abyss who, upon arriving at the graveyard, pass away only to be reanimated as the undead. It is for the player to learn the purpose in this and to perhaps stop this terrible curse from inflicting the denizens of the Underworld.

The Vorpal Bunny looks delicious.

Can you guys hire The Fatman (George Sanger) to team up with e Govett? To do the musical score? These were the best scores done for computer games.

Ok I really want some of these stretch goals to make it so I've put in another $10. So hard to part with money when the Australian dollar is doing so badly costs so much more these days for US $.
Now what we need is someone with a spare $400K and I think we could all manage the rest. All stretch goals met.
Creator Peter Nagel on March 5
Ah, i was so full of hope that cooperative play would move to an earlier stretch goal ;-) This would have been sooooo amazing! But better music is something i will really appreciate!
How about prolonging this kickstarter campaign one or two weeks now it is running so smoothly? :-D
Creator David H on March 5
Also, I agree with Madopal. UU had great music for it's time and I can still clearly remember the many hours of fun I spent playing on my old 486DX2/66 while I was an unemployed teenager. :D

@OtherSide Entertainment - Getting some of the enhanced music in 800k stretch goal.
Awesome to hear, thank you. Roll on $850,000!
Creator Campbell Lindsay on March 5
Would looove to hear some of the original tunes, that would blow me away.
Creator Endemoniada on March 5
The Necropolis of the Ancients is still my favorite stretch goal. I really hope there will be a way to make this happen one day.
Creator Madopal on March 5
I still have the MIDI files for Ultima Underworld 1 & 2, and I use them on my phone as alarms to wake me every morning. It would be great to have some nods to the original in the score.
Creator Scotty on March 4
Glad the lizardman come with content.
It makes sense to give them a place to live, context, story etc. Imagine if they just add Lizardmen. They are just standing around in random and non logical places all through the Underworld with no dialogue or point. ;-)
Creator techieg33k on March 4
@TheOtherSide: I am glad to here you just shifter stuff around so you aren't adding to the workload, but re-prioritizing it. Seems to me you are putting things that add depth to you game to the forefront like you have always said you wanted. I hope for $800k and even $850k!
I am looking forward to following the games development over the next year+

@cherryghost41 - Getting some of the enhanced music in 800k stretch goal. Also, possible will reach the 850k goal and get the rest. Things have picked up hugely.
Creator cherryghost41 on March 4
I have to say, thank you guys for making some of these stretch goals more easily attainable. I was looking forward to the lizardmen, but more importantly I was really hoping we would get to the $850,000 mark for the music and sfx goal. I have never played the original games, but I know that sound design makes a huge difference in atmospheric games such as Underworld. I'm very excited that this stretch goal has a better chance of being achieved now.

@bd07 yes the pets are wholly optional
Creator OtherSide Entertainment on March 4
Techieg33k - We did a bit of trade off between what we were planing between the 2 stretch goal. Moving some stuff up, some down. So nets out the same pretty much.
Creator Josh B. on March 4
Music matters a lot to me. I hope that reaching this stretch goal means live instrumentation. Even just a few real instruments playing over a synth track can make a *huge* difference.
Creator techieg33k on March 4
@TheOtherSide: That is awesome you moved the music goal down and are adding more mini-goals along the way (ie the Necrotic Graveyard). I am so glad you are listening to the fans and I hope all these changes are being made because they can be done and you aren't forced to regret any of them. I wish I could fund you more, but my new baby son just doesn't allow it.

While I appreciate the nod to Monty Python, I think having a bunny companion would sort of kill the game's atmosphere for me personally. I hope these cute little pets can be turned off. :)
Creator Paul Brown on March 4
Yeah the stretch goals I'm most interested in are the ones that directly add new content, locations, enemies, things to interact with to the game. I'm glad the undead area has been bumped up to 775 or one of the undead areas in any case.
That being said,I do agree with the others that the sound is a huge priority because music and foley and other bg noise can add so much ambiance and immersion. Thief is a great example of where I loved the audio. Particularly at the haunted cathedral.
Creator Robert Ringrose on March 4
I remember how music from System Shock incorporated themes from nearby creatures into the music. That was amazing, and I hope to hear something equivalently good.
Creator Bill Wang on March 4
Uhh I really hope you guys reach $800,000. Honestly with all the goals, the music is probably the one I care about the most.
