About this project
Friends! We are thrilled and tremendously thankful to have reached our goal so early! Since we still have two weeks, we have racked our brains to come up with additional rewards to offer our backers if we reach further plateaus. These are outlined as follows:
If we reach $5,000:
ALL BACKERS will receive a hand-stamped and signed thank you note from the band, PLUS a 50% discount coupon code for our Bandcamp site, where you can order tracks (individual or as an album) from our first two albums "Pretty as You" (2007) and "Pearls" (2009).
If we reach $6,000:
ALL BACKERS will receive a custom made Orpheum Bell e-scrapbook. We will be gathering an assortment of keepsakes that will reveal all of our well-guarded secrets: original lyric sheets, old posters, daguerreotypes of us as children, the original sheet of paper listing optional band names, and much more; all gathered and laid out nicely, sent to our backers as a tidy PDF booklet.
If we reach $7,000:
ALL BACKERS will receive either an Orpheum Bell t-shirt OR a FREE download of one of our first two albums.
Here we are in August and things are lining up just right for our 3rd album. Entitled The Old Sisters’ Home, it is well under steam. Basic tracking for most of the songs is complete and we look to start mixing in September. It is our sound: mixing many instruments and song ideas and trying to pin down what we are after. This is sometimes not cheap, so we need some more money to get it down in the correct manner.
Since we recorded our last album, “Pearls”, we’ve been joined by two new members –Katie Lee on vocals and many instruments and Henrik Karapetyan on viols – and they have added to our sound. They have the far hearing and the good sense to use it right.
10 tracks is what this album will have, some vocals, some instrumentals. Our budget is around $10,000 start to finish. 1,000 units is what we will produce. We
want to make this album as good as we can and if you can see fit to help, we would be
grateful and proud to have known and counted you as a friend.
When we're all done, we would like to invite you to come to this album's release on Saturday, December 10th at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theater in Ann Arbor, MI.
We will be playing the songs, joined on stage by those that helped us record it as well as special guests Red Tail Ring.
We are and will remain,
The Old Sisters’ Home
