What we put on our skin is just as important as what we put in our bodies. Although the skin is the body's largest organ, many of us take it for granted.
As part of Orijin's mandate to promote self-care and mindfulness, we’ve developed the 100% all-natural and biodegradable Orijin Sponge. Made from Japanese Konjac Plant Root and infused with anti-microbial bamboo charcoal, the Orijin Sponge will provide your skin with the TLC it deserves while also heightening your showering experience.
Most bathing sponges you’ll find in-store or online today are made with the use of chemicals, synthetic oils, plastic and artificial coloring. These “glorified plastic bags” as we like to call them, are a breeding ground for dank smells and bacterial growth, do absolutely nothing for our skin and take over 150 years to decompose!
Made completely from 100% all natural Konjac plant root, the Orijin sponge's powerful fibers are naturally alkaline and hydrating. In addition, the Orijin Sponge exfoliates even the most sensitive skin without irritation.
Infused with Bamboo Charcoal, the Orijin Sponge is anti-microbial allowing the konjac fibers to absorb debris and impurities without allowing bacteria to grow or linger.
The Orijin Sponge is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in hand while providing great coverage for an easy and thorough full body scrub down.
Said to have been discovered by Japanese farmers who used konjac to wash their babies' skin because of the plants gentle and natural features, Konjac is native to Japan and has been used since the 6th century.
When Dry, the Orijin Sponge is 3x smaller dimensionally and more than 11.5x lighter in weight. When dry the Orijin Sponge weighs only 17grams and when fully hydrated it increases to the perfect weight of 198g.
Feel free to use the Orijin Sponge all over your body, especially on the chest, back & face. These areas are easily acne-prone and need an extra deep clean. The Orijin Sponge is gentle enough to be used on sensitive areas, like around your eyes, while tough and sturdy enough for a full body scrub down.
The surface of the Orijin Sponge was designed to help channel water away from the surface for a better lathering experience and for more efficient drying time when the Orijin Sponge is not in use.
There’s no comparison. Based on our ergonomic size, design properties and environmental footprint we take the lead by a long shot.
Just last year more that 4,000 awesome supporters brought The Thinking Egg (our previous campaign) to life, making it the most successful mindfulness tool to ever launch on Kickstarter. Risks and challenges
While we have budgeted sufficient resources and time, we know that there might be things outside of our control and current visibility. That being said, we are extremely committed to doing everything in our power to solve any challenges that may arise along the way. That's a promise!
Our supply chain is tried and true.
We have our manufacturing and operations all ready to go, and we've made sure to leave enough time so your Orijin Sponge/s arrive as planned. We are confident that our calculated plan will work effectively once we're funded, and that we'll be putting your Orijin Sponge in your hands no later than November!
