If you're just after the-one-video-to-rule-them-all that gives you a solid overview of what this game is we suggest the Concepts and Gameplay Overview where we touch on all the different elements of the game and give a generalized look at the concepts and mechanics behind it. If you'd rather get more into the weeds we've got that too! Check out the beta rulebook to really dig in and then watch the How Not To Win gameplay video to see a few end-game turns in action and get an idea of how things flow.
In addition there are more videos coming too! Third party previews are coming (schedules and pesky unexpected life things have slowed those down more than we would have liked) as well as a full game session in which new players are taught the game as well.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! Lots of your fellow community members are well-versed in the rulebook and there are quite a few folks around who have demoed or playtested who are happy to jump in with answers as well. We are STOKED about this game and love to talk about it. Ask away!Last updated:
There is no hidden information that would prevent you from playing multiple explorers.
Because many of the interactions require two explorers (standing on pressure plates across planet at the same time, swapping positions with a microbial teleport, supporting each other to remove conditions, etc) it cannot be played as just a single explorer.
TL:DR Yes, if you play multiple characters.Last updated:
We are working with our manufacturing and fulfillment partners to finalize the dimensions of the boxes. Optimizing shelf space and reducing shipping costs are primary considerations guiding that conversation. We've got your back.Last updated:
Each planet has roughly 90 cards (in addition to tokens, etc), so the all-in pledge will come with around 550 cards. Because the cards are a unique size we have made sleeves available in this campaign.
Each pack of sleeves is enough for one planet.
The all-in pledge includes sleeves for all 6 planets.
The sleeve packs will include a few extras just in case you accidentally damage some.
We are still reviewing production samples but the plan is for 100 micron sleeves.
Mayday (40 microns)
Mayday Premium (90 microns)
Paladin (90 microns)
Fantasy Flight (105 microns)
We are working with a reputable manufacturer who make sleeves for some of the biggest names in the industry. They will be quality.Last updated:
There is a fair degree of language dependency in the game. Nearly all of the cards have text on them, many effects are text based, and there are short 1-2 sentence narrative elements on some of the cards. This is not a game we would recommend for a group that struggles with English. If several of the players have strong English and are willing to commit significant support to the rest of the group they could make it work.
We would love to make this game available in as many languages as possible but that's not likely to happen during this campaign. Because the game has narrative elements on some of the cards it needs more than a rulebook translation. It may be something we can arrange in the future but for this campaign we’re not able to make any promises.Last updated:
We will again be offering local pickup as an option in the pledge manager.
We’ll be straightforward, these events have created complications in the past. If you select this option please understand that the local pickup times will be restricted to 1 or 2 events at set times and dates, likely in the Vancouver WA area. If you are unable to make it to those events your pledge will re-enter the regular fulfillment queue and shipping charges will apply. That said, we LOVE those events and are looking forward to seeing you all at the next one if you’re able to make it.Last updated:
These campaigns are all about community. Given the choice between spending all campaign unlocking stretch goals VS getting the stretch goals up front and then spending the campaign building something together with our creativity - we easily pick the latter. Everyone gets the same amount of stuff they would with stretch goals but we ALSO get to spend 3 weeks together being creative and having a collaborative experience. Much more satisfying. :-) We are very excited to be here with you.Last updated:
Use the "MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE" button to bring up your pledge details.
Simply increase your pledge by the amount of the add on you wish to add.
For example, if you wish to add on the $15 planet pack, increase your pledge from $89 to $104. You do not need to change your pledge tier. These additional funds will be available for you to allocate to the items you want in the pledge manager.
If you simply want to get everything and want to skip all the math you may CHANGE YOUR PLEDGE to the BLACKOUT tier.Last updated:
Exclusives do not align with the values of our community and everything in this campaign will be available after it concludes. $1 backers, late pledgers, pre-orderers - all will have access to these items in the pledge manager and pre-order stores. The Free on Kickstarter items are included free at the full-pledge tiers while the campaign is live as a thank you for helping bring the campaign to life, but they will also be available for purchase later for all who want them.Last updated:
Conceptually, in a way, but not mechanically.
This game has no hidden information or mechanical elements to stop a player from sharing their thoughts. We have found that the inclusion of the personality traits cause discussions that lead to people being more mindful of their own actions and self-policing better, but its not mechanically enforced. We want people talking and strategizing, it is a game about working together. If someone in a group is incapable of doing that in a mature way then this type of game isn't a good fit for them.Last updated:
