On March 25, 2012, Oracle Productions and studiobema premiere a new short film called Trupiak. This film is produced as Public Access Art project, which makes great art available to everyone - for FREE!
Want to find out how Public Access Theatre is changing art in Chicago? Listen to an interview with Executive Director Brad Jayhan-Little and Executive Producer Ben Fuchsen.
Oracle believes that participation in cultural events gives people the courage to challenge the status quo, express their passion, and strive for a just, peaceful society. We will screen our film and host events through Public Access Theatre, which does not charge admission. All of our screenings are FREE for audiences - no strings attached. We want the entire community engaged in culture.
Help us make amazing art that EVERYONE can see, regardless of their pocketbooks.
Help the community participate in art.
Trupiak tells the story of a private detective drawn into the mysterious world of a Polish Women’s School in Chicago, where an old matron hires him to find her missing husband. As he investigates the disappearance, he becomes more and more engrained in the dark existence and secrets of the immigrant women who live there.
Trupiak is an independent short film co-produced by Oracle Productions and studiobema, and directed by Michal Janicki. Shot entirely on green screen and the black stage of Chicago's own Oracle Theater, Trupiak uses a collage of photos and paper to create the film's setting; a twisted-fantasy view of modern Chicago. Oracle's history of tackling daring European plays in innovative ways, combined with Michal Janicki's dream-like interpretation of his own immigrant experience work together to create a window into the human experience of survival, wonder, and hope.
Along with a hopeful festival run, the film will also continue Oracle Productions fundamental goal of providing the community with free art by offering post show screenings following Oracle Theatre's upcoming production of The Maids by Jean Genet.
