WE MET OUR FUNDING GOAL! NOW WHAT?
With one more day left in the campaign, people have asked if they can still contribute. The answer is yes. By contrubiting to this project before it's end you will still receive the associated rewards and be part of the initial crew that helped to launch this project. Anything above and beyond our funding goal will only help to contribute to the overall production quality of the show by allowing us to spend more time on this project, fullfil rewards, and purchase more assets such as costumes, various graphics and 3D animations as well as invest in hiring freelance artists.
All this being said. If we find the funding goes above $40,000 in the next day we will be sure to offer some type of reward where everyone that has pledged so far and thereafter would receive an extra reward in addition to the reward they initially signed up for.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
The Opus Joyous Show is based on the two main characters Opus and his dog Joyous and their adventures with the special Bible that they find in a hidden treasure chest. This bible, when opened up and read allows them to travel through time, bringing them to scenes from the bible including the birth of Jesus, meeting Peter our first Pope, visiting outer space the story of creation and more....
In addition to Biblical, historical stories, the Opus Joyous Show will cover topics that are core to the Catholic faith including the Saints, the Sacraments, the Pope, the Vatican, Vocations and more…There will be a ton of music and original songs, all tied together with solid Catechesis in line with the teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. In other words, this will be a faith-filled, fun show that is entertaining and educational in its delivery with solid Catholic teaching.
The style of the show will be unique with the way the puppetry is done. We won't be using traditional puppet sets. Instead, we will be using real life scenes and traditional cinematic film style shooting, similar to the muppets. In addition to the cinematic puppetry there will also be 2D traditional animation and 3D animation as well as some cool layered effects of traditional sacred art similar to some of the footage in the opening show sequence.
Opus is a fun loving, honest and mellow guy. He is unique in his personality. He loves God, his faith and being Catholic. He is very inquisitive and likes to ask a lot of questions.
Joyous is the happy go lucky talking dog with a big heart. He is Opus's sidekick. Joyous sees things through a totally different lens than humans do and is able to offer some great insight.
Clare is a bright, clear-thinking and quirky girl who loves adventure. She loves learning. She is a great character to offset the often mellow Opus which makes for a fun interaction between the two.
Every well developed story needs an antagonist or a villian type character. This character will add some suspense and drama to the story line while giving opportunity to discuss the battle we are all in over good and bad.
Fr. Theo will be a cartoon character featured in the program. He offers a break in the flow of the program and keeps things interesting with his cartoon character friends, He will be our resident theology expert. Discussing more difficult subjects, vocations, the sacrament and more.
* There will also be a number of other characters that will be developed upon funding.
The Opus Joyous Show will be produced by Jason Taylor and his wife Marie Taylor, parents of 3 kids 3 and under with 2 more on the way. In addition to Jason and Marie, the Opus Joyous Show production will include an extended team of production assistants, freelance artists and educators to help with the curriculum-based content.

Risks and challenges
I have been doing media production for close to 20 years now and I am aware of many of the creative, technical and logistical challenges involved in the production process.
Our goal is to create a high quality video series. Creating a quality production takes time. This will be the Show's biggest challenge. For this reason we have given ourselves a booster and extended the release date for a year from now which we believe will give us ample time to produce the series, make necessary edits and have things ready to release for Christmas of 2017.
