What is Project Root?
Project Root is the evolution of the shoot’em up.
A mix of Desert Strike, R-Type and Axelay, you have the control, with out new free camera system.
Player's abilities are the determining factor. It’s a game for players that like a challenge, as their reflexes, maneuvers and strategic capabilities will be put to test.

Prometheus Corporation is the leader in the generation and distribution of energy to all cities in the world. Due to the ideas and designs of charismatic president Demetrio Watts, the corporation developed new technologies producing higher quantities of energy at a lower cost, granting them near-absolute control of the market. The friendly policies enforced by Prometheus and Demetrio Watts has made citizens confident they will have access to electricity in their houses every day. However, very few of them are aware of what's behind Demetrio Watts' smile or behind the scenes in Prometheus Corporation. Secret plans. Terrible plans. Plans which will take the population by surprise. When they realize what is going on, it will already be too late. A group of rebels are the only ones who know Demetrio and his company's true intentions, and will do everything it takes to bring the truth to light about the person who pretends to be their eternal benefactor. It will not be easy or agreeable, but the danger behind what Prometheus hides within is a threat to all. Stopping Demetrio Watts is in the hands of a group of unknowns. Depends on Arcturus.
Project Root takes place along 8 open levels where the player can move freely to complete several primary, secondary and hidden bonus objectives. The free camera systemallows the player to make different strategies to complete the objectives, to attack or defend different positions.
The player has two main weapons to strike aerial or ground targets along with several powerful but limited secondary weapons, like rockets, homing missiles and more. Defensive elements like shield and flares are available too. Every type of weapon can be upgraded with certain power ups that can be picked up along each mission or purchased as the player gains more experience.
In game music is in progress, music will change based on the player status and gameplay.
We start Project Root from the scratch, we create our own game engine, with project root in mind, is optimized for it. The level editor is also home made, with all the elements to tune up the gameplay, our iterative development, allow us add new features and options to the editor and gameplay. Project Root is working, you can play it, but is not polished, not all gameplay elements, enemies and bosses are in. You can see our videos, you will get more than you see now, when the game is completed, like we envisioned it.

Risks and challenges
Project Root is doing well performance wise, running at 60FPS. but we are adding new gameplay elements and more graphics details, 60FPS is a challenge we can achieve with our engine.
Gameplay and balance
We are fans of the Shoot’Em Up, our first game is Dark Rage, also a Shoot’Em Up from 1996. We have the experience in gameplay balance, but players change from ‘96, gameplay is subjective, with the beta and alpha access will polish the gameplay and difficulty.
We plan Project Root right, our schedule is according to the plan, but we have many ideas in our heads, and we need put the in the schedule. Some weekend are reserved to make our dream true.
PS Vita Port
The PS Vita, is a perfect device for Project Root. But is less powerful than a PC. A port is a challenge, the engine will be rewritten, textures and models scaled. The editor is already capable of convert the assets, but some of the code need to be rewritten, focusing on the performance, but we can do it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
