Factory visit and more...

So, it’s almost 2 months since we’ve reached our goal. Some of you already asked for an update and you are right. It’s time for an update. We got so caught up in work, we almost forgot about it.

The quick version: All is good, production is on its way and we can’t wait for all of you to get out there and ride powder in the Open One Series.

The longer version: Immediately after the Kickstarter, we started to collect the information about your desired sizes and colours. Almost all of you responded quickly and right now we have the information of about 98.5% of you. So, if you think, wait but I haven’t submitted anything... You'd better be quick ;)

With this information in our hands, we flew to Hanoi, Vietnam to visit Maxport Limited. The factory that’ll produce the shell products of the Open One Series. Below you’ll find a few images to get a better impression of Maxport.

Maxport is a company that does production for, amongst others, Arc’teryx and Patagonia. They are very well known with the ethical way of producing and are used to deliver the best quality outerwear in the market. They have multiple production facilities and we’ve visited the one close to the centre of Hanoi, where the production of the Open One Series will take place and where also their main office is located.

As you can see on the images, the factory is built around a green concept. A former government facility has been completely renovated and Maxport brought back the tropical forest into the bustling city centre of Hanoi.

During our meetings there, we’ve done some final tweaks to the products, in terms of fit and construction, so we know 100% sure we’ll deliver the best final product.

Right now the main material of Sympatex is being produced and we expect them to deliver this end of October / beginning of November to Maxport, so the final production can start.

That’s it for this update. In a few weeks, when the production proceeds to the next stage, we’ll post a new update.

For the time being, we are busy developing a brand new website and we are working on a few new products. More on both later.

Cheers Chris & Martijn
