It's OPEN SKY time (as opposed to Empty Nest)!
I am ready to commit to my painting, get out of the garret, participate in the public discourse of art, earn a terminal degree and launch a public solo exhibition at the end of two short years.
I've done the applying. I've gotten accepted! I've gotten assistantships and scholarships, but I still need financial help. We still have a son in college, and I won't be able to work if I commit to this project full-time. I am only asking 50% funding for the first year to have a shot at meeting the kickstarter goal. But of course I'm hoping to far exceed that amount.
Here's the breakdown:
Tuition (minus my award-- cheap!): $1165
Fees (minus my award-- ouch!!): $8034
Kickstarter fees and gifts for you, approx.: $201
HALF OF THAT IS MY GOAL HERE ON KICKSTARTER:
Believe me there are many more expenses, like materials and supplies, rent, travel, not to mention giving up my income! So please feel free to exceed the goal amount.
Please, please, please, if you believe in art
if you believe in me
if you believe in the open sky.....
Risks and challenges
This is actually a two-year project, but I am only asking for partial funding for the first year, first. Then I will figure out the second and final year of this project. As far as the painting and the exhibition go, there is no risk of failure-- there is only the personal challenge that I am seeking! If I need help with year two, and Kickstarter worked for the first year, then I have proven I can tackle that as well!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
