Chopin on a Pleyel: Kimiko Ishizaka's next Kickstarter
Did you know that Chopin had a favorite piano, one that he liked so much he took it on vacation to the island of Majorca with him? The Pleyel piano, made by Camille Pleyel, was the instrument that Chopin played and heard when he composed new pieces, including the 24 Préludes, which he dedicated to his friend Camille. These Préludes, which were inspired by Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, are the target of Kimiko Ishizaka's next recording project.
Help her film and record a concert of the 24 Préludes on an 1832 Pleyel piano, with all its original parts, in the Manifold Studios. We'll release the lossless audio and HD video with a Creative Commons license.
