I agree with the others below; it was no better than any other cheaper rubber suction cup.

This was just plain awful. I wish I hadn't backed it.

      @John S

I'm going against the grain here but I'm actually interested in picking one up. Seeing as KS has no user to user messaging, hit me up at apexdrifter at outlook dot com. Thanks!

To those who never received their Oona, you're better off. This i (was) by far the biggest waste of my KickStarter dollars. As a phone mount, it's only good for photo ops. It's not even a very good paperweight. If I were you I'd move on and write this one off as bad investment. If you REALLY want one I am happy to sell you my (practically unused) Oona.

    7. Rodrigo Venancio on December 31, 2013

Never received... Will never invest again in any project/product/company that Sam Gordon might be involved.

The Oona was terrible. It never worked for me. I held onto it for a while, trying it again every few months only to remind myself why it was still in the box. I finally threw it out today. What a waste of money.

Awful product, how could you such a bad product...

I wanna sell mine off but decided to trash the amazing POS because it sucks that bad. I'm not kidding.

Definitely the best part of the Oona is the card that came in the box with the direction "lick it before you stick it".

Mine is a piece of random paper weight (not very good one either). Yeah they took our money and ran. This is SAD.

Never received my oona! Sam Gordon just do not answer my emails anymore, kickstarter can not do anyting about it and there´s a lot of disappointed buyers!

    19. The Federal Inc. on November 9, 2012

I still have not received mine. zero response for months on email, kickstarter or twitter.

    20. Steve Lyb on October 19, 2012

I received my Oona just about a year ago and was throroughly disappointed in it. Unless you stick a large unsightly black sticker on the back of your phone, the suction will give out after a little bit.

Ended up selling mine off, just wasn't for me in the end, unfortunately.

    21. Anthony Kay on September 27, 2012

I received mine quite some time ago, however I have to say that I'm unimpressed overall. As many have mentioned, the suction isn't sufficient to hold your phone for any length of time in your car (my main reason for backing the project) and due to this I've stopped using it since you never know when it might fall down.

I note that they are selling these on their website and are downplaying the effectiveness of the suction cups, something they never did on Kickstarter. All in all, the only thing the Oona is really good for is as a desk stand or somewhere the phone won't fall and be damaged.

It was an interesting idea that unfortunately failed to deliver. The fact that Sam hasn't commented in months shows that he's no longer interested in those who helped him deliver the project, and those who are still waiting seem to be waiting in vain. He doesn't seem to be interested in engaging with his customers or improving his product.

To be honest, if you haven't received yours you aren't missing out on much. It's a tiny slab of aluminium with a few ineffective suction cups. I stopped trying to use mine a few months ago and haven't touched it since then.

      But, it's Kickstarter, buyer beware.

Any comments Sam to pacify the, (few?) clearly irritated, backers?

    28. Kenneth Killeen on May 28, 2012

So disappointed by this product. For something that's designed to hold your phone. It just doesn't. I recall the product was delayed because the first batch of suction cups were not up to scratch. Well, the final batch wasn't either. I've some cheap suction cups from the dollar store which are stronger and last longer than the Oona and they hold more weight. How one can get such a fundamental part of a product wrong is beyond me. The Oona is very unreliable and consequently pretty pointless. Caveat Emptor, people! You live and learn, with less money to burn..

POS product. First and last product I will purchase with a kickstarter account. Perhaps that's harsh but when you get as big a fail as the effin Oona it's all tainted. What a joke of a cradle. Laughable bad if I hadn't paid for it.

    30. The Federal Inc. on May 13, 2012

Why they won't answer their emails is beyond me, still no Oona here.

Disappointed with my OONA. It's pretty much nothing I needed it to be. Wouldn't stick to my window in my car for long unless I didn't want it to hold my iPhone. Didn't work as a desk stand either. Hopefully the next kickstarter project I back is better than this one. =(

    33. Less Goudarzi on May 5, 2012

Well, they were honest about one thing though (The Oona: Whatever You Need It To Be). So it turns out mine was destined to be a door stopper.

They are back on Kickstarter with a new product (…) so I don't think they will be revisiting suction cups anymore. The Oona is dead.

    40. Suzanne Schiller on April 25, 2012

Sam -- Any plans to revisit the suction cups? Personally, I think your design is great, the packaging is great, everything about the product is great -- except it doesn't work. And it doesn't work only because of the suction issue. I think all of your backers would like to see you succeed. You collected a lot of money from us; it would be nice if we saw you using it to improve on this product. (Oh, and yeah, were *are* the post cards?)

    41. Garrick on April 24, 2012

The Oona was a nice concept, but ended up being a less than stellar product. I have to say communication form the Oona team was (and continues to be) sub-par. As part of the pledge many of us were promised "...a personalized thank you postcard and a thank you tweet". It doesn't seem that ever happened, and looking at the comments below many people are still waiting for their product almost a 10 months after it's funding goal was achieved.
Not exactly a great Kickstarter success story.

    42. Scott on April 17, 2012

i can say it wasn't a scam. i got mine, but the device is less-than-stellar. the suction cups lose grip after only a few minutes, on pretty much any surface, including my iphone.
