The Oomph is the worlds fastest hand powered portable coffee maker and travel cup.
Elegant in design, The Oomph is perfect for home use, office or for when travelling.
Created by a desire to always have an amazing cup of coffee, The Oomph is a simple to use coffee maker insulated by an air barrier that keeps your brewed coffee at the perfect temperature. It uses your movement to stir – ensuring for a great cup of coffee from the first to last sip.

The Oomph can hold upto 13fl oz (around 380ml) of brewed coffee within the internal chamber. For this amount of delicious coffee we suggest 25g of freshly ground coffee. The Oomph has been designed with an internal line which indicates the perfect amount of coffee, so you don’t need a measuring spoon or scale.
Want to Add Sugar and Milk? We’ve got that covered too. Once you’ve plunged fully, you can unscrew the lid and add your milk & sugar. Screw the cap back on and enjoy your cup of coffee.

Super Quick to Clean. We’ve designed The Oomph to take a matter of seconds to clean and be ready for reuse. Remove the shell, tap out the grinds and add a small amount of water. Return the shell and plunge up and down for around 20 seconds and pour out the water. You are now ready to brew again.

We’ve taken testing of The Oomph seriously. We’ve had the device tested by several experts, including Jonny England, A World Barista Championship Judge, Q Grader & SCAE certified trainer.
In the video above Jonny explains his findings from a day of testing The Oomph portable coffee maker.

The Oomph coffee maker has been designed to be the perfect companion, helping you to make the perfect cup of coffee anywhere.
We’ve tested The Oomph in many environments, here are a few of our favorites:
The Work Commute: An issue for many coffee lovers, the morning or evening commute can often mean spending several pounds on mediocre coffee on the high street or even on the train. As a Make & Take device, you can make your perfect brew at home knowing that it will remain warm until you get to work. The Oomph also fits perfectly in most car cup holders.
In The Office: The Oomph will give you ultimate bragging rights on who has the best gadget along with the best coffee in the office. No longer will instant coffee or the percolator haunt your daily working. Plus because you can drink from the device or decant into cup, you could even consider share your coffee with colleagues...
Camping and Hiking: When we are out in the wilderness we are all guilty of missing great coffee. As a self contained unit you can really make your perfect brew when out and about. As long as you’ve got hot water fresh from your camping stove and coffee, you will be the envy of the camp site (or the top of the mountain) with your delicious cup of coffee.
At Home: Of course, The Oomph isn’t just about Better Coffee on the Go, it’s about having an amazing cup of coffee everywhere – this includes at home. The sleek and stylish design and range of colours mean that The Oomph will fit well into any kitchen or home office.

We've been on a long journey to get to our final prototype and a manufacturing ready portable coffee maker. Here are some of our prototypes over the years.

During the past few years, Matthew has filed and has patents pending on the device. He has been working with industry experts (in coffee, plastics and other fields) and now has a final working prototype - this means we are now ready for manufacture, which is where you come in.

Risks and challenges
We know there are several key risks to be evaluated and eliminated within our KickStarter Project. We believe these are risks, based on the experience of industry experts and suppliers that we have already sourced. Also some have been uncovered from our prototyping, testing and studying of other crowdfunding campaigns for other "food & drink" based devices.
1. Materials
During prototyping not all materials have been available to us that will be during full production. This means that prior to a full production run we have allowed time for a small test run of several materials to ensure they meet our exacting standards and other relevant industry bodies to ensure safety & durability. Then and only then will we proceed to our final production run.
2. Manufacturing
All types of manufacturing come with their own risks, from factory delays to moulds breaking and logistical errors. We are working to eliminate as many of these potential risks as possible, this has included design iterations to make tooling of the moulds easier and of course having an open dialogue with multiple manufacturers too. As part of our risk mitigation we have sourced a mould manufacturer and food-safe plastics manufacturer in the same vicinity - this should reduce potential delays and should issues occur alleviate the pressure they cause.
3. Multiple Parts = Multiple Suppliers
Although the number of parts is limited, some of the parts (such as the rubber seals) will need to be made in a separate factory specialising in this material to ensure it meets our exacting requirements. Another part (the fine metal filter) will also be manufactured separately. This ultimately means we are reliant on the time-frames of several manufacturers being accurate (though our time scales include realistic buffers on this).
