Onward Chariots, a new indiepop band from Brooklyn, NY, have been invited to play at the Indietracks Festival in England this summer. It is a huge honor to be asked to perform for one of the world's best-known gatherings of indiepop fans and musicians! This year, bands include The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, White Town, Love is All, the Pooh Sticks, the Smittens, and more.
Now all we need to do is get there from New York.
Airplane tickets during the time of the festival run about $1000 apiece -- and then we'll need to pay for transport, occasional fish and chips, etc. The festival's fee will cover about 10% of our expenses... and we need to raise the rest. And you can help!
So far our music has only distributed almost exclusively in the form of free downloads, which has been a wonderful way to let people all over the world hear our music -- but which doesn't do much for paying for things like this.
If we are able to collect enough money to fund the entire tour, any extra money will go toward our next, less ambitious trip... to Athens, Georgia for the Athens Popfest in August. Plus, you will be showing that The Internet Works!
Oh, and to hear some of our music and read some nice things bloggers have said about us, please visit us at http://myspace.com/onwardchariots .
Thank you so much for your potential support!
