Introducing the New Omega2 Pro

Hi there,

Since you were a part of bringing the Omega2 to life, we thought you would like to...

Meet the Omega2 Pro!

The Omega2 Pro is the next generation of our Omega2 and the most powerful IoT computer we’ve made yet. It is a standalone device – the processor, memory, gigabytes of storage, and Wi-Fi are all built-in, and it’s smaller than a breadboard.

A few key points about the Omega2 Pro:

  • The gigabytes of storage un-fetter your creativity and allow you to build rich, modern applications, with plenty of space to hold libraries, assets, media, and more.
  • On-board battery management allows you to power the Omega2 Pro with a LiPo battery -- use it to make your project portable, or act as a back-up power supply. To charge the battery, just connect your Omega2 Pro to a power source with a MicroUSB cable.
  • It's compatible with all of existing Omega2 Expansions!
  • It comes pre-loaded with OnionOS, our intuitive, browser-based user interface. Write code, run commands, and use apps to interact with your Omega2 Pro, with no installation required.

Since the Omega2 launched right here on Kickstarter in 2016, we've shipped tens of thousands of boards to customers around the world. Along the way, we've collaborated with our community of developers, hackers, and makers -- their feedback was essential to the development of the Omega2 Pro.

And now we're very proud to announce that the Omega2 Pro is live on Crowd Supply! Join us on this next step of our shared IoT journey!

They are advertising it as having 512MB "memory", when 384MB of that is actually just swap and it really only has 128MB RAM! That's a load of ridiculous fucking BULLSHIT! I do not support companies trying to deceive less-experienced people like that, Onion-devs should be fucking ashamed of themselves!

I backed the Omega2... I'm sorry but a Rasberry Pi Zero W is 1/5th the price of this, 5x faster, *smaller* than this, and superior in every other way too, including running full and complete linux. Onion seems to have stopped innovating. 580Mhz for $50 is a bit silly in 2019. I can get 5x Pi-zeros, and each one is 25x better.

Since this is on *yet another* crowd funding site. I will pass and wait until it is production.
I see NO intelligent reason for me to sign up for yet another site, provide another attack vector for my personal data.

I expect i will be the quality of the this project or better. I will just have to wait based on your choice not to use the two major crowdfunding platforms.

      Good luck!
