When I asked my friend Katie to wear our One Tribe Apparel Thai harem pants to a festival last summer and take photos her response was:
"I love the pants and always wear them for yoga or lounging around but they aren't form fitting enough for a summer festival and i don't want to wear pants on a sweltering hot day in July."
It got me thinking...
What would our friends want to wear to their next festival? What would be the perfect outfit for bonfires on the beach or your hair blowing in the wind on a summer drive?
These were the questions driving the One Tribe Apparel team. And we found our answer.
Introducing Embroidered Boho Denim Shorts by One Tribe Apparel
It's Thai Bohemian Meets California Coast
And to help you create a standout summer outfit we paired the shorts with seven colors of hand stitched crochet tops.
If you are new to Kickstarter - this is how it works: first you choose a reward option at the top right of the page. Then, once the campaign ends (March 23rd) your card is charged and we send out an official backer reward survey to everyone. That's when you'll tell us which shorts or tops you want, what size, where to ship, etc. It's that easy!
If you support either of our two biggest funding tiers (2 shorts + 2 crochet or 3 shorts + 3 crochet) you will receive a complimentary One Tribe Apparel logo tank top
Available Sizes are Women's Small, Medium & Large
PRODUCTION & DELIVERY
Once our Kickstarter ends, we will go through the roughly two week survey process.
From there our manufacturing will take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks based on how many orders we've received.
Our plan is to do rolling fulfillment and send out orders in batches as they are completed with our early bird supporters getting their deliveries first. All deliveries should be completed by late May or early June.
ABOUT ONE TRIBE APPAREL & MORE PHOTOS
Two years ago One Tribe Apparel was formed when a group of travelers met in the rolling hills of PAI, Thailand.
We started by sharing the locally made harem pants.
Quickly the mission grew and we knew we wanted to explore other styles of clothes. We wanted to create our own lines and empower local artists and designers.
Now with your support we'll bring our first line together that we've created from start to finish.
This project started by collaborating with local Thai artists to create the designs we envisioned.
Next, we found a local manufacturing studio who focuses on handbags to create the embroidered patches.
And finally we've teamed up with a denim manufacturer to complete the process.
Once we created our first samples we spent two days in Chiang Mai, Thailand taking photos. On the 1st day we started by the banks of the river and from there explored the local flower market.
On the 2nd day we explored the Royal Gardens at Rajapruek and ended the day as the sun was setting at Chiang Mai canyon.
Risks and challenges
We have been running One Tribe Apparel for two years and know the ins and outs of importing clothing from Thailand.
On our online store www.OneTribeApparel.com we have many 5 star reviews and pride ourselves on responsive customer service.
To ensure this project runs smoothly we've done a small sample run of the shorts ahead of time. We have everything worked out from the artwork to the embroidery layouts to the denim itself.
We've put the shorts through the wash, tried to tear them up and in general put them through the ringer to make sure there is no issue with the patches falling off or tearing. We're happy to say that we've had no issues at all with the manufacturing.
We have the production mapped out in advance to the best of our ability and expect everything to run smoothly.
There are always challenges with any new venture but we commit to be as transparent as possible with any issues that arise..Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
