Rolling 'em out

Dear Backers,

It’s been quite an adventure so far bringing oneTesla to you, and we’re happy to say that the first 50 kits (minus toroids) are ready to leave our door on Monday morning! We just narrowly missed the USPS pickup deadline to ship them on Friday.

oneTesla has grown!

In the last two weeks we’ve focused on hiring help, so that we can package in several shifts throughout the day to get through your orders as fast as we can. A number of part-timers have joined our team for the summer: Emily, Shannon, Cory, Noel, Han, Will, James, Daoxu, and Ezequiel.

Here are Ezequiel and Noel flashing ATMegas and packaging them:

This is what the fully boxed kit looks like:

And here's our mountain of boxed kits:

“Complete your Kit” package available in our store

For our backers who received circuit boards as Kickstarter rewards, we have the “Complete your Kit” option available on our website now! Use promotion code KICKSTARTER-CYK when checking out for a $39.99 discount if you order within the next week.

Toroids are getting there!

In other good news, our toroid manufacturer has solved the wrinkling problem. As of last Thursday, the centers are still tearing, but he is working through the weekend to fix the problem. He mentioned that it takes 6 hours to disassemble the press! The first samples will be shipped to us on Monday. Because he has changed aluminum alloys, he will have to place another bulk order of material that will take several weeks to arrive.

 Gradual improvement:

The remaining issue of tearing centers, to be solved this weekend:

Manual & Interrupter documentation updates

We’ve vastly improved the manual with more troubleshooting steps and new photos. The interrupter has been updated with bugfixes, features, and a completely refactored codebase - the firmware guide has been updated correspondingly. Check it out on our downloads page

Ambitious Coilers using oneTesla’s designs

We’d like to commend the numerous independent oneTesla builds out there! Several people have successfully used our design files to send out for boards, and some of the results are gorgeous. They've asked for help on our forum and also posted nice pictures there.

Reading the build stories I'm so glad to have your expertise in selecting the parts and doing the design. Thank-you for doing this, and for supporting others in their attempts.
