Bagl: show your cables who's boss!

$4,512

We've all been there: an important call comes in, you unplug your charging cable to take it ...and while you're talking, the cable makes a break for freedom, snaking off the edge of the table and into a tangled pile on the floor. At your desk, cables of all kinds seem to multiply on their own, self-tangle into a chaotic braid, turning a simple job of grabbing just one into an full-on IT re-wiring project...

Bagl: control your cable chaos!

Bagl is a simple cable hub with enough mass to pin down the squirreliest collection of cables, keeping them organized and right where you want them. Like an old-school paper weight, Bagl helps keep the wired part of your life under control wherever you are - at your desk or on the road.

We're starting out with Red, White & Graphite:

Bagl is 2" (~50 mm) in diameter and weighs a solid 3.8 oz (107 g)... about the same weight as 19 US Quarters (or 14 1 Euro coins). After testing plenty of prototypes, it's the right balance between weight for wrangling a bundle of cables at your desk, while still fitting comfortably in your pocket.

Bagl is crafted from humble, hard-working cast iron - one of the earliest and oldest metal manufacturing processes known to man. It's a well-understood process, easy to work with and very dense, bringing alot of weight to our very compact Bagl shape. Once cleaned up, Bagls are powder coated with a extremely tough, road-ready polymer finish.

Project

We're working with the Henry Perkins Company, a 5th generation family-owned iron foundry located in Bridgewater, MA - one of the oldest foundries in the US. Their awesome heritage and over 167 years of iron casting experience make them a perfect fit for this project.

Those of you who have backed one of our previous projects know we love telling a good behind the scenes manufacturing story - and this is certainly one of those. We look forward to sharing the process!

3400° F (1871°C)... hot enough to melt iron!

Schedule

Though the production schedule will depend on how many we actually produce, we're fairly confident that we will be able to begin the shipping process in January. There are only 2 stages to the production process and we have several back up resources if needed, but we are posting a January ship date to be on the conservative side. It gives us some room to correct any issues that may arise.

Shipping

Our default world wide shipping method will be US post. On our past projects, we've had a very high success rate with them, but please note that it will not include tracking past the US boarder We are happy to make alternative shipping arrangements with tracking at additional cost if needed.

About us

Founded by my son Calvin and I, we seek out interesting, authentic manufacturing talent within our 100 mile New England backyard; everything that we develop is launched first with our enthusiastic community of international backers here on Kickstarter.

Having developed 100's of products for both start ups and Fortune 500 companies alike, it's exciting to work local where we can be more hands-on, designing and delivering clever, useful everyday objects. Onehundred is now in its second year and has run 5 successful Kickstarter projects to date: Pucs, Tuls, Brdi, Ledr and most recently, Fave - check them out!

We hope that you'll join us on Bagl - thanks in advance for your support!

Dave & Calvin

Risks and challenges

Though casting iron is a well-understood process and our foundry partner is about as experienced as they come. However, unforeseen issues may still arise. Our manufacturing partner is 100% committed to delivering our project, but like all small manufacturers, they have their own process of prioritizing the order of projects they work on. The biggest risk to shipping on the stated delivery date is their production capacity or scheduling of other work at the time of our actual order.

For those of you who are a new to one of our projects, we have a lot of product development experience and are committed to communicate often. All 5 of our previous Kickstarter projects have begun the shipping process on time, 100% drama free!

We take good care of our backers - your pledge is in very good hands!
