Moon Girl graphic novel - Retro futurism! Ray guns! PEW PEW!
A rated-PG graphic novel based on the golden age, public domain character. This timeless Sci-Fi story is now reimagined by Omar Morales
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Tue, December 18 2018 4:48 PM UTC +00:00.
A million years ago in outer space... a highly-advanced society of women lives under the surface of the moon. Their peaceful way of living is quietly fracturing from the inside, as political ideologies pit the queen of the moon against a geneticist hell bent on usurping the queen's power. The queen flees to Earth with her young daughter, the heiress to the throne, and a powerful talisman that must stay in the possession of the royal bloodline.
Hi folks, I'm back with a new graphic novel project: Moon Girl. This project started as a germ of an idea and a pitch for inclusion in the "Not Forgotten" anthology that funded in 2017. My 9-page mini story was so well received, I expanded it into a full-blown, 80-page story that completely reimagines the public domain character from the 1940s.
This is a rated PG, retro-futuristic, Sci-Fi adventure that combines modern style pacing and fluidity with all the hallmarks of golden age comics: stained and faded pages, thought bubbles, and ray guns!
Why did I make this book? Because I LOVE comics and making comics! My last book was rated R and my kids couldn't read it. As a trained storyteller, I wanted to deliver a classic, rated-PG tale that all kids 10 and up could enjoy - boys and girls. I can't wait to get feedback and reactions from kids that read Moon Girl!
Pledge with confidence - the book is 80% complete and color artist Paula Goulart is coloring the final chapter as you read this. My goal is to finish the book, print it, and distribute rewards by Easter 2019 ... exactly 5 years after I fulfilled my last Kickstarter project, CruZader. You are not funding an idea or a project that has no traction, I have been working on Moon Girl for a couple of years with my artist partners. To this point, I have funded everything myself, and now I need the last push to get the book printed and into your hands.

Risks and challenges
The only risks I can see are unseen delays in the technical production of the master file that goes to the printer. The printer will have its own set of specifications that need to be followed exactly in order to guarantee success and on-time delivery. Being that this isn't my first rodeo, I am confident I will be able to deliver all rewards by Easter 2019.
As mentioned before, the book is 80% complete and I'm 100% confident I will deliver it into your hands.
