Hey you awesome backer!
I hope you had a great start into 2019. The january is almost over and I want to quickly get you a basic idea of what I've been working on. Omno is progressing well and I'm on track.
Besides having dozens of conversations with potential partners/co-workers/service providers over the last weeks, I was mostly adjusting and refining the entire project according to the amazing stretch goal achievements we luckily reached.
So I am using my sketchbook a lot these days, adjusting things, expanding my spread sheets, design documents, gantt diagrams and things like that.
'Puzzle plus' allows me to implement some puzzle mechanics that I had to cut for the initial goal due to resource and time constraints. Now I can get those back in, make them work and choose the right puzzles for the game. Awesome! Although it is a huge workload, it is so much fun and whenever I think of that you made this possible, it warms up my heart instantly.
Currently, it is all still super ugly and prototype'ish looking, so that is why I don't want to share a lot of that work in progress stuff at the moment - I don't want people to think that the final game will look like this:
Along with those plannings, there's a lot of landscape adjustments to make and planning/extending on the creatures and deciding which ones will make it into the game additionally is really tough. As you all know, game development is a dynamic process and many things change throughout the production, but having a precise plan is mandatory to get everything done.
'Animation plus' also allows me to setup some additional movement mechanics that hopefully make everything feel more alive. Since I won't have the time to animate everything myself, I am setting up a pipeline to implement things quickly. As someone with a background in animation, I can hardly hold myself back on adding animations into to the game.
For instance, when you run up/down a hill, a new algorithm detects the slope and adjusts the walk/run-animations accordingly.
I want to thank you for your patience, your trust in me and for following along. If you have questions, comments or concerns please don't hesitate and get in touch via kickstarter page, mail (email@example.com), Discord or the other social media.
Thanks, talk to you soon
