Messaging with Keyboard

Here we would like to show how it is like typing a message on the Omate TrueSmart with a standard Android keyboard. Watch the video and you might notice it's pretty accurate. There is a reason why the key hits are accurate - Ultra-Sensitive Touchscreen. It's more accurate, more sensitive than your average Smartphone. Some of you may have experienced bad touchscreens before (not sensitive, not accurate), then you'll know perfectly that the sensitivity and accuracy of a touchscreen makes a huge difference to the experience. Well this touchscreen is more accurate, more sensitive than most phones.

Originally planned as a stretch goal, we do not have time to wait for it as a stretch goal anymore. The decision has already been made to add Ultra-Sensitive Touchscreen as a free upgrade for everyone :-). Because we know having good and proper text input is important to defining Smartwatch 2.0. There'll be another Update talking more about the Ultra-Sensitive Touchscreen. With the sensitivity and accuracy, we know the on screen keyboard will have accuracy better than you are used to now.

Here you can check out the video of typing a message : For the design intention of Omate TrueSmart which is messaging and not writing a novel, the onscreen keyboard serves its purpose well enough.

We also took the opportunity to check out the Fleksy keyboard, a revolutionary cool keyboard technology with an "invisible" mode. The moment we saw it, we love it.

Check out their Demo video here:
Fleksy keyboard running on Omate TrueSmart:
With the Fleksy keyboard you can also change the size of the keyboard, useful for some apps, and also other settings like themes etc

And of course you can add any keyboard you like since Omate TrueSmart ships with full access to Google Play App store! :-)

      @Omate looks awsome
Fleksy offers an invisible keyboard. This should solve the problem that you only can see one line.

Will the ultra sensitive touch screen create potential problems with running apps with regards to accidental touches or rain/sweat triggering screen actions? Is there a way to 'lock' the screen using the hardware button to avoid this?

    3. Eddy on September 7, 2013

Looks Good But I Think Something Like Swype Or SwifTkey Would Be Better For This

    4. Sijmen on September 7, 2013

The Fleksy Beta only has a Englisch and Spanish dictionary. Do you know whether other languages will be available in the near future? Or will it be possible to use a custom dictonary?

It's awesome, but i'm pretty sure that most of users would use voice input)

There is a problem that many apps/mobile sites have... the view doesn't follow the line of text being entered. This problem would be exacerbated with the TrueSmart, where only one line of text is visible in the text box while the keyboard is active.

Could you guys think of workarounds? This would greatly improve the experience. Try typing multi line text and post a video/screenshot. ..

Awesome news!!! Pumped for the ultra sensitive touchscreen! Does this mean that it will now also work when water is on it (I think I read somewhere else that ultra sensitive touchscreens work even with water droplets on them)? Also, be sure to try Flit Keyboard, not as clean looking as Flesky, but works great on my tiny Motoactv watch!…

Looks great, especially when typing with fleksy..
Please provide more info on the ultra touchscreen, what tech is it and which phones use this tech, sounds interesting

Will messaging work if the watch is linked to a smartphone?

Same question than @Denis but in french. And
I would like to know something about the waterproof use of this watch? Do you know which water pressure this watch can handle ? Do you know of far (in meters) could we go under the water ?
Is their a risk ? I let this question in youtube video, google+ ...

    22. MAPASHITO_BCN on September 6, 2013

@Denis Marinkonvic I think the answer is YES, because many languages will be supported as it is a full Android OS in your Omate truesmart!! ;-)
