Rebranding and Moving Forward
Part of launching a successful product is learning how to roll with the punches. We were faced with an unexpected situation and we made the decision that was best for our backers. Despite our preemptive work prior to the campaign, we were contacted by another company claiming that our name was too similar to theirs.
While we love the name OLO, and we still maintain the rights to use it in the future, our goal is to focus our time and resources on production and our backers. So OLO is now ONO.
The website and our social media pages will be updated soon!
Even when the unexpected happens, our primary goal is our backers. While our name may have changed, what has not changed is our dedication to getting you the best printer we possibly can. The final molds were put into production and are estimated to be completed by August 24, at which point we will be able to make 1200 ONO bodies a day. Once the bodies are complete, the components need to be installed and all the accessories packaged together and shipped. We are doing everything we can in order to make sure every part meets our standards and is ready as soon as possible.
Due to the ONO rebranding process, production for some of the parts has been delayed waiting for the final trademark approval. We are doing our best to lower this inconvenience, but at this point, we cannot guarantee the precise timeline we had planned. This is a priority for us and we will continue to keep you in the loop!
Now that this rebranding has been finalized and registered, we are happy to finally share pictures of the first pre-production ONO.
Whether your phone’s headphone jack is on the same side or the opposite side as the ONO USB port, it will work with the new ONO design. The headphone jack needs to be pointing in the same direction as the USB port, but phone power cables can come out of either side. For example, the iPhone 6 has the jack and port on the same side, while the Zenfone 2 has them on opposite sides. Both phones can easily be connected to ONO and powered at the same time.
There has been concern that new phone models, such as the iPhone 7, may not have standard headphone jacks. This is something that we are aware of, but cannot design around until the phones or their specs come out. It’s on our radar!
Thanks again for all your support. We look forward to delivering a great printer to you!
