My biggest goal as a songwriter and artist is to make my work available to listeners everywhere! My 1st Studio Album, "The Bomb" is a collection of eight songs that I've written (some as far back as 2009). I started recording in September 2011. It's now 2013 and we've almost wrapped up the recording process but...
I still need funds for:
Recording/Mixing: Recording doesn't happen on its own and a sound engineer can't do his work for free. Even after the recording process is finished an engineer goes back to listen and give a final mix (which takes good ears!) before the album gets sent to be mastered.
Mastering: Mastering is a process applied after the final mix is done. In mastering, a paid engineer creates a final mix that can be duplicated for the purpose of creating multiple copies of a recording.
Printing VINYL\CD: I'm releasing the album through digital download, CD and Sets of 2 ten inch vinyls (one for each side). Printing enough physical product to take on tour is expensive but essential to building fan base, especially when on the road.
Up until now all the money that has been used to pay for this album has been out of my pocket! Any donation- big or small is helpful. Thank you for checking out our Kickstarter!
Risks and challenges
The pressing of a vinyl record is very sensitive. First a "Test Print" of the record needs to be made, sent back to the artist, listened to and approved of, then sent back to the pressing company. Once all the final changes have been made to the record, pressing can begin. Since it's a careful process to make just ONE record, putting out an order for hundreds of them is going to take some time. My outlook for the record is that it be out by May /June 2013. It's possible that we may hit a snag in the pressing process and need a couple more weeks. Even if that were to happen I can guarantee a digital copy and/or CD copy in addition to the record for those who have requested them.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
