Kickstarter Video 1:
Hello everybody, we're Old Towne Ghosts. Our videos might be on the comedic side, but we are serious about what we're doing. We honestly want to produce an EP of which we can truly be proud. We have everything written, recorded and ready to go. We just need a bit of money to make the best release possible.
In order to best present our new EP, The Old Ones Are and Forever Shall Be, we want to release on vinyl. Most of us have never had a chance to release on an actual record and to do that would be a chance to fulfill a dream that has lasted for well over a decade for most of us. We have the plans, we have the vision, we have the technology - we just don't have the cash.
In all honesty, we could probably fit this all unto a 7", but we've got bigger and better plans than that. As it turns out, we can fit the entire EP on one side of a 12" record and that leaves us with room for a great and creative idea. If we can get enough money to reach our first stretch goal, we'll be able to use some of our connections to get silkscreened covers, colored vinyl AND a separate design [possibly] to use screen directly onto the second side of our EP.
We don't expect you to give til it hurts, but if you could think about chucking a couple bucks our way, we totally wouldn't mind.
Also, if we somehow make it to that final stretch goal we will figure out some way to get that wizard van.
- Main Goal: $1,750 - Make a 12" EP.
- Stretch Goal 1: $2,500 - Silkscreened covers, colored vinyl, screened art on side B.
- Stretch Goal 2: $2,750 - Start paying Travis, our video guy. He deserves it.
- Stretch Goal 3: $3,000 - More tiers for rewards, maybe make some T-shirts or something. We'll see if we get there.
- Stretch Goal 4: $10,666 (or so) - New PA; another Hondo II and better cabinet casters for Kortas; Rickenbacker 4003 for Brendan; cymbals, sticks and a gong for Jason; a 1978 Marshall Plexi for Joe; and a bitchin' van with a wizard airbrushed on the side.
Wow! This has gone better than we ever thought possible, but we're here to whore ourselves out for as much as possible! So if you're interested in a little taste of our upcoming release, here it comes!
By the way, this is just a home-mastered version, not the official mastered version of the songs. We don't have that back yet, so Joe just cranked everything to 11. That's how mastering works, right?

Risks and challenges
Looks like our project will be fully funded so it's now our job to allay you of any fears that we will abscond with your money like filthy thieves into the night.
First of all, we have plenty of experience releasing music and have done so as a band once already. In addition, Joe has been instrumental in ordering and putting together at least six releases for his various musical projects in the past decade and Jason works as a graphic designer so he knows how to put art together. We can guarantee you that this will be released properly and each person will receive a copy treated with the utmost care.
There will be no difficulty in ensuring this product will get released. Getting released by our planned release date, however...That might cut a little close. Our hope is to get everything pressed, printed and packaged by December 21, 2012. You know, since that's the end of the world and everything. It will all depend on how long the turnaround from United [for the actual records] and Burlesque [for the screenprinting] will be. We're going to try our best, but forgive us if it ends up slipping into the first couple weeks of 2013. We promise to keep all of you updated on any and all developments as they come.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The signed copies do come with a test pressing, but now that we've sold all 40 of them, that's it! No more. Sorry, folks!
