We will! Here at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, we have an aircraft restoration expert on staff who will head a team of passionate volunteers as they undertake all of the work on this plane. Our Museum is largely volunteer-driven, and this is a wonderful opportunity for all of our volunteers to showcase their expertise and dedication. We're all looking forward to the challenge!
We plan to fly it! Because we are an operating Museum, most of our pre-1940 aircraft and ground vehicles fly or drive, and we demonstrate them for educational purposes. Our goal for the 1917 Fokker Dr.I is to restore it to flying condition and demonstrate it at our summer events. In the off season, it will join our other WWI aircraft and ground vehicles in our upcoming exhibition about the technology of the Great War.
