At the beginning of 2017, Senator Elizabeth Warren was ejected from the senate for reading a letter written by Mrs. Coretta Scott King in 1989 regarding then Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions's attempt to intimidate elderly African American voters as well as his politically-motivated voting fraud prosecutions.
I immediately produced the "She Persisted" hard enamel pin and put it in my Etsy shop, where it sold out in about a week, so I decided to do a Kickstarter to expand the color range.
Through Kickstarter, I and over 1K amazing backers were able to unite over the cause of women's rights to produce the "She Persisted" Pantone Enamel pin series. Then at my backers' request, I ran two more campaigns, "She Persisted" Enamel Pin in Black, and then later, the "She Persisted" Pendant
You don't have to be an Elizabeth Warren supporter for these to have a special meaning for your own personal reasons, but now that Senator Warren has thrown her hat into the 2020 race for the democratic nomination to be the presidential candidate, I'd like to offer up the remainder of the pins and pendants from the previous campaigns. I had ordered extras just in case unexpected things happened, so this Kickstarter is an effort to get the remainder of these pins to people who missed the first few campaigns but still want one at the kickstarter backer price.
I'd also like to produce a NEW "We Persisted" Pin in white + rose gold and black + rose gold, to be more inclusive for those who do not Identify with "She/Her" pronouns and also because we ALL will get through this dark hour:
The Pantone pins:
These colors will not be reproduced and many are in very limited numbers, so get them while you can and celebrate a proud moment in women's history. The fight is just beginning, again.
She Persisted in Black:
Black Hologram Glitter Pin:
The pendant is available with or without the chain. Colors include white glitter + rose gold (shown), black hologram glitter + silver (same as the pin above), or black + yellow gold/silver/rose gold.
This photo is showing the pendant with the #MeToo charm. The charm was created as a backer exclusive, 5.00 add-on. The #MeToo charm is not currently available, but if there's demand, I'll offer it again as an add-on, but in a different color, probably white, black, or living coral (I'll take a vote if we get that far)
I've recently received several requests to produce these in an alternate color which I'd love to do and WILL do for every backer above the 6.00 pledge level if we hit the stretch goal. They'll probably be white... but living coral might be fun! I'll take a vote if we get that far.
If you don't see a reward that has the exact items you'd like, let me know! I'm happy to add the rewards backers want to see the most!!
Any stretch goals that have been met, may be added on to your pledge by adjusting your pledge BEFORE the close of the campaign. I'll give you a space in the survey to list anything extra you've pledged for.
For anyone getting 5 or more pins, the cost per pin will go down to 10.00ea.
No extra shipping will be required for anyone getting add-on's.
Risks and challenges
I'm always learning new things each time I do another Kickstarter, though the BIGGEST challenge I always have is getting the word out. We can't make the goals if nobody knows this project exists and if nobody pledges. This is a challenge that YOU, the backer can have a lot of impact on. I'm only one person and I know I can't do this without your help. So, PLEASE share the link with people you know who will love these pins as much as you, and then share it again, and again.
I don't foresee any major challenges, it's a pretty straight forward project without too many moving pieces. I've calculated the timing, production, and shipping costs and added a little bit extra of everything just in the case something does come up.
In the case we hit stretch goals, and you've chosen one of the new living coral pieces, shipping on those rewards will be at the end of March/beginning of April, most likely.
I don't anticipate any manufacturing issues as I am using the same manufacturer that I've worked with for the past four collections and they do gorgeous work.
It takes 14 days for me to receive the funding from Kickstarter (should I make the goal) + time for the orders to be processed and time for me to package with care & ship it all out to you. I anticipate an on-time delivery at mid/end of August.
Any additional taxes or charges for international shipping will need to be taken care of by the backer.
I am always open to producing the rewards you'd like to see the most. Democracy is amazing, so if you have a reward suggestion, just let me know and I'll take a vote :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
