Andromeda Planetary Survival is a hardcore survival game which emphasis on player verses player combat. Players who favor a more wrecking ball approach can play as the Insectum. If players like a more traditional approach to survival, play as the Terrans and fight to survive the hostile environment.

Been working on this title on and off for a long time over 5 years, dedicated to seeing the game completed. I've invested my own time and money into the project and wish to see it come to fruition. Small Indie Studio started by Thomas Baca and Aaron Crawford. Dedicating our time and money into projects we enjoy and see potential in. We started as co-workers and we've grown over the years and joined forces to make games for all types of players.
How Terrans work
As Terran players they have access to more advance weaponry, vehicles, base defenses, traps, and various other advantages to combat the Insectum sheer strength in numbers. Terrans fight as individual players , manning vehicles, turrets, etc. Starting off as a single individual join others to form Factions. Claim Territory and expand the faction through means of war with other factions. Each Faction claims a 1km x 1km section of the map and each building placed increases the War Value of the given territory. When declaring war against another Faction the leader first places demands and the defender does the same. Each territory has a War Value up to 80 points in cost. A war's total demand cost can not exceed 100 total points. Every vehicle , player, building lost adds to the score. which ever faction reaches 100 points wins the war. The attacker can not declare another war against anyone for one week as a cool down timer to allow alliances to be formed and allows smaller factions to build up. Factions and players can freely kill Insectum players both online and offline. To combat their sheer numbers build superior defense networks to mow down any Insectum that wanders too close to a factions territory. Lay anti-insectum mines, turrets, traps, and deploy more advance machines of war to deal with infestations, such as the A-780 Colossus Walker and lay waste to anything in it's path. Terran players can also hunker down in bunkers designed to defend against a hoard of Insectum warriors.

Terran Verse Terran
Terran players that wish to fight other terran players that belong to a faction must use the War System in the game. When the attacker declares war they select from their territory map which territories they wish to own after victory. Each territory has a value between 1-80 and the max points a player can claim in a single war event is 100 total points. For instance a capital of a newly created faction is always worth 80 points. Each factory, mining outpost, facility adds to the total point value of the given territory. Once the attacker selects their territory demands the defender does the same but has a maximum of 50 instead as they're defending against their enemy. Once war targets are selected each faction can freely kill one another, each death, vehicle destroyed, building destroyed, regional territory module captured adds to the war effort victory total. Once a side has reached their maximum war effort value which is 100 by default but can be changed by the server admin later if they wish for total wipes to be possible in a single war event. Once the war is concluded the demands are given to the victor and all hostility ends as players can no longer freely kill one another in their respective territories. War can no be declared again by the attacker until their war timer cool down ends which is anywhere from a single day to 1 week , server admins will have control over the cool down periods for their specific server needs. Owning territory allows players to build their structures within their territory, allows the construction of large mining installations, and various other perks of owning territory. Players within territory should seek to join a faction or create their own and fight for dominance. Insectum players do not have to declare war and can attack Terran players and factions at will anywhere at anytime. They do not control territory but can build their structures anywhere , even in Terran territory. As long as the Insectum player has the resources they can infect the Terran invaders domain causing chao and mayhem.
Terran vs Insectum
Terrans may freely engage and kill all insectum players both offline and online. They get some resources from insectum players such as Water and other random ore types along with meat. Terrans will have the advantages of traps, better defense turrets, mines, and many other devices to fight the insectum. Terrans ignore the territory restrictions that they receive with other Terran players. They will also be able to use motion tracking devices to detect underground movement, along with higher tier detection systems to hunt down the Insectum.
Terrans can only build within their own territories. Each building is a prefab that players can place down. Certain buildings require power while others are just static walls or other defensive structures. Each Territory HQ shares the resources that are in the silos within that territory. Players are limited on the amount they can carry and require a builders backpack to carry enough resources to build the larger buildings. Be careful though as the backpacks are highly explosive and a single shot can cause chaos to the player.
How Insectum work
Insectum players have the disadvantage of not being able to make formal alliances or factions, instead they rely on brute strength and sheer numbers of minions to destroy others. With this in mind Insectum players gain huge amount of Bio-matter, the insectum main resource, from other players including other insectum players. Each insectum player will have evolutionary upgrades that are either anti-Terran or anti-Insectum. Insectum can offline raid their human counter-parts, they do not need to declare war against a human faction. Each race can only talk and communicate among themselves in the world. The Insectum focuses on sheer numbers and brute force to overwhelm the Terrans edge in technology and ranged weaponry. As a Insectum Hive-Lord you can establish your own colony of monsters to command. Lay scent trails to automate resource gathering , patrols, and various other tasks available. As stated a emphasis will be placed on player vs player as killing Terran players will net the Insectum more Bio-matter a resource they need in order to build and upgrade their colony. Bio-matter can later be broken down into other resources to build more advance structures and minions to unleash upon the world.

Risks and challenges
Where the Money is going?
Money will be going straight into the project to purchase art assets, sound assets, Unity Pro Software upgrade if within the budget after art/sound.
Money will also be used for Greenlight and Kickstarter Fees and any other costs involved to get the game on steam. The remainder will go towards the backers physical rewards. If anyone has any questions about the breakdown of the funds please email for specifics. We will do our best to break down all the costs involved but we know from experience things will often cost more than expected. We will setup a donation paypal as well for players if they so choose to help continue funding the project. Transparency will be our goal in this process as we know this line of work takes a ton of effort on our part to make it happen.
With any Indie game development there are always obstacles and challenges along the way. This game is no different and some of the risks are Delay of launch, Acquiring and Maintaining servers, bug fixes, patches, and scope creep if we don't have a clear goal or move the goal of the finished product. Other challenges will include art asset creation, art in general is very expensive even with tons of money things take time and we have to manage the risks involved. Other risks include lack of player-base to give players the full experience of the PVP game. We will work hard to expand the player base as much as possible , if the population drops to low to allow more than one official server we will consolidate all players onto one server to give players the best experience possible. As indie developers there are also unforeseen risks working with Steam Greenlight program as this is our first title as a team. We will work hard to mitigate the risks involved in the development process as much as humanly possible.
Community Transparency and accountability?
We will update the game semi-monthly when we have a stable build to present to the players. We will maintain a weekly stream of the development process and answer any and all questions we can from the players. We appreciate any input into the game development process do be afraid to offend us , game development is a huge process and takes many iterations , blood, sweat, and tears to make a solid experience for all players.
