Update #3 – Press Updates and Poster Mock-Up Revealed!
Today marks the end of the first full week of our campaign to bring the Mercenary Kings Master Codex to life. As of the time of writing this update, 208 generous backers have raised a whopping $9,640… nearly 15% of our total goal! Not too shabby, my friends, but there’s still a long way to go before we reach that magic number. We’re just hitting our stride in this month-long marathon and we've got plenty of enthusiasm for the road ahead!
A NEW MOCK-UP APPROACHES!
As a special Monday treat, Brady has completed a work-in-progress mock-up of our 24x36 double-sided poster reward! Keeping with the NES/SNES era themes of the Mercenary Kings Master Codex, this poster will come pre-folded and features Stéphane Boutin’s gorgeous box art on one side and full mission maps on the other.
We only made one screenshot map for the interior samples, so it’s the only one included in our mock up. The final version will have as many maps as we can fit on there for your reference!
In our last update, we sent out a call to action and asked you to submit our project to your favorite news sites. Well, we’re happy to say your efforts are starting to pay off: Jessica Conditt of Joystiq gave us an awesome write up last week! Keep up the good work, everyone!
Also, Greg and Josh were interviewed by Stefanie Fogel of GamesBeat recently about our thoughts behind this project and the quest to bring the awesomeness of the printed strategy guide to independent games. You can read the article right now, and be sure to keep reading to the end… Josh might have spilled the beans on who he’d like to work with next after completing the Mercenary Kings Master Codex.
